Conversations in Broadcasting #49

The local news program that appeared to had been part of the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the seventeenth day of the month of October for the calendar year 2018 ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had this conversation between two of its contributors (Byron Day (news presenter) and Lenise Ligon (news presenter)):

Byron Day: Mega Millions lottery fever...gripping the country tonight. No winner, again, in last night's drawing, so, the pot just got a whole lot bigger

Lenise Ligon: It did, and I mean this streak has been going on since July -- now the jackpot -- and that's, like, right now.

Byron Day: Yeah.

Lenise Ligon: It's up to nine million; it's going to be more than that come time of the drawing. What would you do with all that money? In San Fransisco one ticket was sold, but it only matched five numbers so that means one million dollars is--

Byron Day: Oh darn!

Lenise Ligon: -- on the rise.

Byron Day: Yeah, yeah. There's one more drawing on Friday night, so if you want to get in on the chance to win, head to Florida.

[unidentified voice: Mm-hmm]

Jason Smith: -- is right around the corner and, uh, it looks real comfortable temperature wise. Nothing hot out--

Byron Day: No!

Jason Smith: -- after hitting ninety a couple of times this week. Looks like things are trending more toward October.

Lenise Ligon: And so I wonder--

Byron Day: [laughter]

Lenise Ligon: -- how many people are going to complain, though -- ooh, it's too cold.

Jason Smith: It's coming.

Lenise Ligon: Hmm.

Byron Day: No one I know. Thanks Jason.

The local news program that appeared to had been part of the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the twenty-second day of the month of October for this calendar year ("FOX 10 News at 5:00") appeared to had this conversation between two of its contributors (Byron Day (news presenter) and Lenise Ligon (news presenter):

Byron Day: Good news for the University of South Alabama. Mobile County Commission voting today to give the school two and a half million dollars.

Lenise Ligon: And that money is for a new Mobile County Center for Academic Success for Student Athletes. It'll be located within the administration building for the college-planned-on-campus stadium.

(note #1: the program appeared to have had a video involving some digital graphics with texts of  "ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER" and "MOBILE CO. COMMISSION COMMITS $2.5MIL TO USA") by this point)

Byron Day: The center is set to have a counselor, study areas, computers, tutor rooms, and much, much more.

Lenise Ligon: All right, what is the latest on South's effort to get a new stadium or its own stadium: This is the Get On the Campus fundraising Web site and as you can see, more than three hundred fourteen thousand dollar has been raised of that seventy-two-million-dollar goal.

(note #2: the program appeared to have had a certain video involving digital graphics with texts of " 'GET ON CAMPUS' FUNDRAISER" and "USA RAISES 314K FOR PROPOSED STADIUM" by this point)

Byron Day: And of course, tomorrow night, the big game -- South Alabama hosting in-state rival Troy for the annual battle for the belt and it's tailgate Tuesday and meaning there will be more than twenty food and beverage vendors handing out free food and drinks prior to the game. By the way, the Jags and Trojans can be seen on ESPN2. Kickoff is set for seven o'clock -- from Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Go Jags.

(note #3: the program appeared to have had a certain graphic involving texts of "BATTLE FOR THE BELT",  "TOMORROW AT 7:00 PM", "LADD PEEBLES STADIUM", "ESPN2", and "SERIES TIED 3-3"; a separate graphic with parts resembling texts of "TROJANS", "TROY"; and "SOCCER", and a certain other graphic with parts resembling texts of "SOUTH ALABAMA JAGUARS" by this point)

(note #4: a certain World Wide Web site named YouTube appeared to have had a video similar to this part of the program with the exception of the parts of it mentioned between this note and the one named "note #2")
