Conversations in Broadcasting #93

A certain parts of a certain news program related to WALA-TV that appeared to have had been part of their main broadcast channel during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the twenty-sixth day of the month of July for the calendar year 2019 ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had this conversation between one of its contributors  (Lenise Ligon (presenter of news), Byron Day (presenter of news), and Jason Smith (reporter of weather)):

Lenise Ligon: Going to barbecue this weekend?

Byron Day: Heck yeah!

Lenise Ligon: Ha ha! What would you put on the grill?

Byron Day: Well, you know, I think, uh, last week it was steak, this week is probably going to be burgers.

Lenise Ligon: Oh!

Jason Smith: Yeah.

Lenise Ligon: You hear that, Jason?

Jason Smith: How about some fish?

Lenise Ligon: Ah!

Byron Day: You know, I can't -- my--my fish gets really dry.

Jason Smith: Right.

Byron Day: When I -- I mean, you grill, fish. 

Lenise Ligon: Yeah, but I put it on a wooden plank. 

Byron Day: Well except for that, aluminum foil, so that's probably's not the thing to do.

Lenise Ligon: Aluminum foil?

Byron Day: Yeah, just, keep it from falling through.

Lenise Ligon: Okay. 

Jason Smith:Well the weather's going to be good, this weekend.

Byron Day: Oh sorry, Jason. Come on in.

(laughter)

Jason Smith: Let's see -- let's see what we have going on while they work out their recipe situation there. Let's, uh, check, our temperatures across the area and look at radar.

A certain part of a certain news program related to WALA-TV that appeared to have had been part of their main broadcast channel on the Thursday of the twenty-fifth day of the month of July for the calendar year 2019 ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had this conversation between some of its contributors (Lenise Ligon (presenter of news), Byron Day (presenter of news), and Tyler Fingert (reporter of news)):

Lenise Ligon: Hi there and thank you for looking in tonight. I am Lenise Ligon

Byron Day: And I'm Byron Day. We're glad you chose FOX 10 News at ten.

Lenise Ligon: Tolling trouble.

Byron Day: Heh heh.

Lenise Ligon: People are fired up about the cost to cross the new Mobile River bridge and Bayway.                 
Byron Day: Yeah, there's a Facebook group, you heard of them, opposing the toll. They now have more than thirty-seven thousand members, and counting, and tonight, we're talking with a woman who is helping spread the word,

Lenise Ligon: Hmm.

Byron Day: -- that the tolls, are bad. Our Tyler Fingert is live in downtown Mobile. And Tyler, what's she doing to raise awareness?        

Tyler Fingert: She's selling stickers, Lenise and Byron. The goal is to get them on cars to raise awareness about the toll. We've talked with a lot of people over the last several weeks, all in agreement, that they want a faster way across the bay, but they don't want to pay for it.

A certain part of a certain news program related to WALA-TV that appeared to have had been part of their main broadcast channel during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the twenty-fourth day of the month of July for the calendar year 2019 ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had this conversation (involving kinds of voices it often appeared to have had a certain contributors of its content (Byron Day (presenter of news), Jason Smith (reporter of weather) Lenise Ligon (presenter of news)):

Disembodied voice (like the ones for the Jason Smith mentioned in the paragraph above): Here is our forecast tonight, near record lows. Unbelievable, temperatures drop in the sixties, for real, I mean, this is happening, and we enjoy it--

Disembodied voice (like the ones for the Byron Day mentioned in the paragraph above this one): Teh heh heh, Ha ha ha, ha, ha. 
 
Disembodied voice (like the ones for the Jason Smith here): -- uh, we're going to see it again tomorrow. Temperature up around ninety degrees tomorrow. Extended forecast, dry air stays with us through the end of the week., without much of a rain chance. We'll be getting some scattered showers chances back by the week. We will have our chance Sunday. Uh, no problems We've been watching the tropics, I'll have an update at nine p-m. No problems out in the gulf right now. Our chance in the gulf is only ten percent there, so good news.

Lenise Ligon: Good, maybe we won't even have rain on the weekend.

A certain part of a certain news program related to WALA-TV that appeared to have been part of their main broadcast channel during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the twenty-third of the month of July for the calendar year 2019 ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had this conversation between some of its contributors  (Lenise Ligon (presenter of news), Byron Day (presenter of news), and Lee Peck (reporter of news)):

Lenise Ligon: Well hi there and thank you for looking in tonight. I'm Lenise Ligon.

Byron Day: I'm Byron Day. We're glad you chose FOX 10 News at ten.

Lenise Ligon: And we're starting this hour with a ruthless crime in the port city. Listen to this, some burglars open fire on a home owner for, no reason.

Byron Day: Yes, sad, but true. Just a total disregard for human life. It happened, early this morning, in a neighborhood off pleasant Valley Road.

Lenise Ligon; Lee Peck on that story for you tonight. Lee, that homeowner, was, awaken by those burglars--

Byron Day: Mmm.

Lenise Ligon: -- as they were in his house.

Lee Peck: Believe it or not, that's right, Byron and Lenise. Terrifying moments. As he was on the phone with police, bullets started flying off all the way through his home. Tonight, the armed and dangerous suspects, still at large.
