Conversations in Broadcasting #80

A certain part of a certain news program related to WALA-TV that appeared to have had been part of their main broadcast channel during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the eighth day of the month of May for the calendar year 2019 ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had this conversation involving some of its contributors (Lenise Ligon (presenter of news), Jason Smith (reporter of weather), and Byron Day (presenter of news)):

Lenise Ligon: I just had the best start to my day today, spending time at Fairhope Elementary School.

[note #1: the program appeared to have a certain video with squealing and digital graphics and texts of "STUDENT CO-ANCHORS W/LENISE" and "FOR FAIRHOPE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S ANNOUNCEMENTS" by this point]

Lenise Ligon: Sweet Lucy McDade, ugh, uh, I was asked to  donate my time to help raise money for the school's, uh, in their silent auction, and Lucy won the chance to read the morning, uh, announcements with me.

[note #2: the program appeared to have had a certain video with digital graphics and texts of "LUCY MCDADE" and "FAIRHOPE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL" by this point before]

Lucy McDade [note #3: in video mentioned in the second note of this transcript]: Missus Ligon is a real newscaster from FOX 10, and most of you recognize her from TV. Missus Ligon helped our school with our silent auction by donating her time to be with us today.

[note #4: the video appeared to have had digital graphics with texts of "STUDENT CO-ANCHORS W/LENISE" and "FOR FAIRHOPE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S ANNOUNCEMENTS" displacing the ones mentioned in the second note of this transcript by this point]

Lenise Ligon: This is a first, for us both, but Lucy is such a natural.

Unidentified disembodied voice: [wheezing] ha ha ha, ha ha.

Lenise Ligon: She wants to be a TV anchor some day [note #4: the disembodied voice involving the words in the third note of this transcript was gone by this point] and I certainly believe she is well on her way and my thanks to F-E-S for inviting me out, and to Lucy for being the best co-anchor and also for the lovely flowers. Uh, Byron was telling you, uh, as I walked in, she was so excited, uh, you know, just to have me there, and, uh, she gave me flowers and I gave her a present, and she was so excited, but, it's just--.

Jason Smith: Heh heh.

Byron Day: It was when she started squealing the mess up.

Lenise Ligon: Oh she was just the sweetest girl.

Byron Day: Any chance we can get her in here, uh, tomorrow afternoon?

Lenise Ligon: I hope so!

Byron Day: -- uh, tomorrow afternoon. I mean, you know.

Lenise Ligon: Yeah, that'll be great.

Byron Day: I think that'll be fun. She's a natural.

Lenise Ligon: You might, uh, you know, heh heh ha heh, handle your match there

Byron Day: I think I'm ok, [wheezes] ha ha, but, we'd love to have her. Love to have her.

Jason Smith: She's very talented.

Byron Day: She can do the weather too.

Jason Smith: All right, so let's bring it on. Here's what we're seeing out there right now and our showers and thunderstorms out there right now over the eastern side of the area, but not much over Mobile or Baldwin County.

[note #1: the video appeared to have had a certain video with digital graphics involving texts of "STUDENT CO-ANCHORS W/LENISE" and "FOR FAIRHOPE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S ANNOUNCEMENTS" by this point]

Lucy McDade [note #2: in video mentioned in the first note of this transcript]: Missus Ligon is a real newscaster from FOX 10, and most of you recognize her from TV. Missus Ligon helped our school with our silent auction by donating her time to be with us today.

Lenise Ligon: It was a first for both of us, but Lucy is a natural. She wants to be a TV anchor someday and she's well on her way. My thanks to Fairhope Elementary School for inviting me, uh, to do that auction, and for Lucy being the best co-anchor, for the lovely flowers.

Byron Day: The reaction, priceless.

Lenise Ligon: So sweet.

Byron Day: Oh, we're going to sign her up. We continue to follow breaking news. Mobile police investigating after a man was shot seven times.

Lenise Ligon: Our Lee Peck at the scene. He's going to join us live next at ten. Plus, disturbing news from Baldwin County: an alligator shot and killed inside a sanctuary. Michael Warrick, with a live report new tonight at ten.

[note #4: the program appeared to have had faded to black by this point]

Tomorrow we'll have to watch a line of storms getting a little closer to us in the afternoon. This one is a little more progressive, it does weaken it, as it moves in, but it does get the line in pretty quick tomorrow

Byron Day: Wow.

Lenise Ligon: Umbrella -- [Byron Day: heh heh heh, ha ha ha] -- don't forget it.

Byron Day: A must have. See you tomorrow, everybody.

Lenise Ligon: Oh wow.

Unidentified disembodied voice [might or might not had been the voice of the contributor named Byron Day]: Ha ha ha ha.

Jason Smith: And our extended forecast looks like this as we head towards Mother's Day weekend. Wednesday, no problems, Thursday, quietly scattered, Friday, looks wet, and, uh, Saturday's all right at this point, but as we advance it into the weekend, Sunday we have to add the rain back on, uh, Mother's Day potentially, so we may see some showers getting back in here on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday of next week, things begin to back off once again and we're just getting some stalling fronts in here, so, we'll be fine tuning some of these rain chances so that we can forecast. We're still not even towards the middle of the week. Hopefully we'll see some changes there, but right now, Saturday looks drier. Sunday, maybe some rain around.

Byron Day: All right, when you got some mamas, you may have to back off that rain on Sunday, buddy.

Lenise Ligon: Heh, heh heh.

Byron Day: You know,

Jason Smith: Sorry.

Byron Day: Yeah.

Unidentified disembodied voice [might or might not had been that of the contributor named Lenise Ligon]: Ha!
