- A few seconds after I began playing a video recording of one of WALA-TV's news reporters acting like a cheerleader near the sign in front of their broadcast facility in Mobile during my visit to their official Facebook page this past Wednesday (November 26th), I realized that the sign did not have any references to their companion station (WFNA-TV) like some of the signs they had in front of facility before this one (such as the one in this image for Google Street View from the year 2011). I soon began thinking the reason for the new sign having no references to the companion station was due to the possibility that they would separated from WALA-TV if their corporate owners (at LIN Media) and the corporate owners of WKRG-TV (at Media General) complete their plan to merge their companys and make WALA-TV part of a separate company (the Meredith Corporation) in order to keep the companion station afterwards.
from one of the authors of a former World Wide Web site named Examiner.com, specifically two sections of it that were part of its existence: "Mobile (Alabama) TV Examiner" and "Mobile (Alabama) Radio Examiner" (note: this site could have certain features that could be seen without certain programs blocking them; each period of time mentioned on this site without any indication of the time zone to which it applied was a period of time for the Central time zone of the United States)
