- The host of the national TV movie showcase program "Svengoolie" (Rich Koz) acknowledged a viewer of the program from Mobile on this past Saturday's (November 15th) edition of it as having a worn a T-short related to it while attending a Universal Halloween Horror Nights event at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
- WPMI-TV's local morning news program ("Local 15 Today") recently had a new series of weekly segments about Mobile's history in which their Internet specialist Taren Reed asked some inhabitants of Mobile certain questions about Mobile's history before having the curator of the History Museum of Mobile (Jacob Laurence) elaborate on the correct answers to the questions (the series was titled "Taren It Up").
- A former contestant for the national scholarship program formerly known as America's Junior Miss (it's current name is Distinguished Young Woman) named Mayuri Nakasone appeared on the edition of the TV game show "Press Your Luck" broadcast by the Game Show Network today (she was one of the contestants for the program's final rounds of competition for the year 1979 in Mobile; she had won the Spirit of Junior Miss award for that year along with a scholarship of $5000).
