- The main broadcast channel for WJTC-TV was set to have a theatrical
movie for some hours when it was not usually set to have such a movie in
recent times on the Sunday of the fifth day of this November (the name of the movie was "Her Best Move"; the hours in which the channel was set to have it for this Sunday were the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.)
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had a video of certain
members of the local news operation at WKRG-TV in various locations
(including some that appeared to had been remote and some
that appeared to had been part of the set for some of the local news programming they had in their broadcast operation in recent times)
appearing to tell members of churches, businesses, and the public
in general to volunteer for a certain organization specialized in acts of charity (the Salvation Army) for one day during some
of its breaks from having programs that were usually part of its
programming in recent times.
(note: the paragraphs below this one concern how some of the local news programming for WALA-TV earlier this calendar week had certain members of their news operation refer to the last day for following a certain practice of keeping time in certain parts of the United States for a certain number of months on a yearly basis in recent times for this calendar year ("daylight-saving time"))
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Thursday
of the second day of this November ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") had one of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Jason Smith) appearing to say this in reference to the practice mentioned in the note above this paragraph: "Don't forget to set the clocks back an hour on Saturday night with daylight savings time kicking in" after presenting information pertaining to weather.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the second half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of 11:00 p.m. this Saturday* had one of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Adam Olivier) appearing to say this in reference to the practice mentioned in the note above the previous paragraph of this report: "And we want to remind you tonight is daylight savings time. It's ending, so you want to turn your clocks back an hour before you head to bed so you can wake up and get that extra hour of sleep. I know that's very important to many people, and so want to remind you of that".
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 6:00 a.m. this Saturday ("FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m.") had one of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Matt Barrentine) appearing to say this in reference to the practice mentioned in the note above the last two paragraphs of this report: "Everything looks great today; temperatures are going to be in the low eighties today, so it's shorts and short sleeves; so it's summer time clothes out there for us today even though we are falling back tonight. Yeah! So it's--tomorrow morning's probably for the best morning for me with people who get to have that extra hour with daylight saving time [ending]. Once again, if you want to annoy people, give 'em that today; correct them. There's no savings; there's no 's' on that. Saving! So, just wanted you to annoy your friends and neighbors".
(*the channel was not usually set to have local news programming during those hours on Saturday in recent times (it had special programming related to sports from their main provider of network programming (the
FOX Broadcasting Company) during the hour when it was usually set to have such news programming on Saturday evenings in recent times (the first half of the hour of 9:00 p.m.))
