owner of WNGL-AM (from the time its name was WMML-AM) having died earlier that day (the name of the owner was Lonnie Melvin ("Mel") Tillis).
- The beginning of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 6:00 a.m. this Sunday ("FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m.") had its news presenter (Asha Staples) saying, "Stay tuned, you're watching your only local news at 6:00 a.m." while the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had another local news program ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this Sunday ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had its news presenter (Lee Peck) referring to a news reporter for the news operation at WALA-TV (Devan Coffaro) as a "certified SCUBA diving enthusiast" while promoting a video of a report involving her for a future installment of the program ("Monday night at 9:00") and referring to a certain "e-mail" from a certain "mother" as a "very heartfelt" one before presenting a video related to it (note: the video had graphics normally used for a special series of videos for some of the local news programming produced by the operation in recent times (they usually involved members of the operation referring to their selves as "The FOX 10 Surprise Squad").
