News for Wednesday, March 30th, 2016
- WKRG-TV had a report in which various persons in Mobile's down-town area were asked about whether they could recognize the face of the lieutenant governor of Alabama (Kay Ivey) from the faces of the main actors for a comedic TV program named "The Golden Girls" from a group of photographs of them or not and asked about the nicknames they would apply to the governor of Alabama (Robert Bentley) on their local 5:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 5") today.
- The news presenters for today's editions of WKRG-TV's local 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. news programs (Peter Albrecht for the 5:00 p.m. news program; Mel Showers for the 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. news programs ("WKRG News 5 at 6" and "WKRG News 5 at 10")) used part of their respective programs to deliver a message about the retransmission consent contract between them (and their companion station WFNA-TV) and a satellite TV company named Dish Network expiring this Thursday (the thirty-first day of this March) and the possibility that they may not have a new retransmission consent contract by then.
