The last part of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. on the Friday of
the twenty-second day of the month of June for the calendar year 2018 ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to
have had this discussion between its news presenter (Bill Riales) and one of its reporters (a
weather reporter named Taylor Sarallo) (along with some video with digital graphics involving texts of "DOGGY TAKEOVER" and
"TAKE YOUR DOG TO WORK DAY")
Bill Riales: All right, well the dog days of summer are upon us,
sort of; so is the day for bringing your dog to your place of business.
You've ever done this?
Taylor Sarallo. No, I have not. I have not brought my dog to work. Um, I would like to. I didn't know today was the day.
Bill
Riales: Well take your dog to work for you is the day for you . It is
celebrated on the Friday after Father's Day...for the past two decades.
Taylor
Sarallo: Yeah, I had no idea. This is the first I'm hearing about this,
but I definitely like it. I haven't seen any dogs so far in the WKRG
newsroom.
Bill Riales: Not here, not here. I think, maybe,
we missed the boat on this one. Pet Sitters International has claimed
responsibility for starting the annual observance back in 1999. They
launched the event as a way to encourage support for local pet
communities.
Bill Riales: Now I--I asked
you in the break--.
Taylor Sarallo: Yes.
Bill Riales: --do you have a
dog voice?
Taylor Sarallo: I do. My dog's name is Marley.
Bill Riales: Yep.
Taylor Sarallo: --and I go (in different voice), "Come
here, Mar, Mar. Hi Mar Mar".
Bill Riales: That's it! That's your dog
voice.
Taylor Sarallo: So I call her--
Bill Riales: There you go.
Taylor Sarallo: --Mar Mar.
Taylor Sarallo: --yeah. What's yours?
Bill Riales: Yeah, all right.
Taylor Sarallo: We all know yours.
Bill
Riales: There you go. With that we leave you with (in different voice) who's a big sweetie.
Taylor
Sarallo: There we go (laughs)
Bill Riales: We'll see you back here later today on News 5 at five.
