  • The main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV did not have a new edition of a local TV program of theirs dedicated to legal advice that was usually part of its programming on Sunday evenings in recent times after having a local news program of theirs and a network program about a live football game from their main provider of network programming in accordance with how it was usually part of its programming on Sunday evenings before this Sunday (the name of the legal advice program was "Local 15 LawCall"; the name of the network program was "Sunday Night Football"; the name of the provider of the network program was the National Broadcasting Company (NBC); as for the name of the program that appeared on the channel a few minutes after the local news program this Sunday, it was "CSI: Miami" (a dramatic syndicated program)). 
  • The local news program that usually appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday in recent times (it was usually titled "FOX 10 News in the Morning" (it was even called "FOX 10 News weekend morning edition" by one of its weather reporters)) was not set to appear on the channel during the hour of 7:00 a.m. this Sunday due to a plan for the channel to have a weekly network news and discussion program their main provider of network programming ("FOX News Sunday" from the FOX Broadcasting Company) one hour earlier than usual this Sunday on account of a plan for the channel to have special programming about a live football game from the same provider during its regular time period. 
  • This past Saturday on the twenty-ninth day of his October, the main broadcast channels for WPMI-TV and WKRG-TV had local news programs during a time period in which other types of programs were planned for them (a syndicated home improvement program for WKRG-TV ("Today's Homeowner with Danny Lipford") and a syndicated comedy for WPMI-TV ("Two and a Half Men") between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.) in accordance with their regular programming plans for Saturday evenings in recent times (between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.) a few minutes after having programs about live football games from their main providers of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) was the one for WKRG-TV) during time periods in which local news programming was planned for them in accordance with those plans (5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for WPMI-TV; 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for WKRG-TV).

News for Saturday, October 29th, 2016

  • A promotional video for a series of special reports planned for some of the local news programs at WKRG-TV was uploaded onto the official Facebook page for WKRG-TV by this past Friday on the twenty-eighth day of this October. 
  • One of the news presenters on local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this past Friday (Rose Ann Haven on "WKRG News 5 at 6") used the last part of its broadcast (the one after its last break for commercial or promotional advertisements) to talk about the wife of a camera operator for their local news operation giving birth to a child earlier that day (she did not mention the surname (or last name) of the wife or her position at WPMI-TV (a news reporter)). 
  • One of the news presenters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Lenise Ligon) appeared to be making fun of one of the weather reporters for the operation (Jason Smith) and one of the animated graphics used in a weather segment for a local news program of theirs this past Friday during the last part of its broadcast (between 10:54 p.m. and 11:01 p.m.*) that day (this is what she said about graphic (a mummy) and the reporter: "So I know that mummy there was actually you dancing to Bruno Mars' new song"; this is how the reporter responded to her: "Right, that's the [clue] of what was going on. I was thinking, "Yes, I'm a dancer, crazy looking" (this is what he said about the graphic during its appearance in the weather segment: "That's kind of a crazy looking Halloween dude there").         
(*the program was broadcast after their main broadcast channel had special programming about a live baseball game from their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company)).

News for Friday, October 28th, 2016

  • Between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the main broadcast channel for WEAR-TV did not have a digital graphic with lottery numbers obstruct its presentation of the first segment of an animated TV program from their main provider of network programming (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) named "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" this Friday unlike the last time it was part of its programming (earlier this October) (the channel had a local programming segment with lottery numbers and an announcement about them a few seconds before the network program this time (it lasted between five seconds and ten seconds)).

  • The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had a promotional video for a special programming plan for a national TV programming service normally used for one of the digital sub-channels for WKRG-TV (Memorable Entertainment Television) with audio of one of the announcers for recent editions of the local news programs at WKRG-TV (Jeff Davis) mentioning the brand name for the programming feed of the digital sub-channel normally used for this TV programming service ("Me-TV Gulf Coast") and the virtual number for the channel itself (5-3, even though the announcer said, "five point three" (5.3)). 
  • One of the news presenters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Bob Grip) made this comment about some reports that he and another news presenter for the operation (Lenise Ligon) presented on one of their local news programs this past Wednesday on the twenty-sixth day of this October ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") regarding "newborns" (or people born recently) at some clinics in the city of Cleveland in the state of Ohio wearing "onesies" (clothing) with the logos for a professional baseball based in the city (the Indians of Cleveland): "Hopefully none of them will turn out to be Cubs (another professional baseball team) fans" (afterwards he said, "No worries, Advocate Healthcare Hospitals in Illinois (the state where the aforementioned Cubs were based) are doing the same thing for the Chicago Cubs as well (he was referring to the city in Illinois where those Cubs was based)". 

News for Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

  • One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WPMI-TV (Jake Dunne) responded to one of its other weather reporters (Kelly Foster) in a sarcastic manner after said she, "So far this looks like it could be potentially the driest October on record" at the beginning of their local news program for Monday though Friday mornings ("Local 15 Today") this Wednesday (this is what he said, "Oh yeah, I mean, breaking news right here, doppler radar, take a look, oh, it's quiet, no, not breaking news. As Kelly said, we've been doing this all month long. In fact, today could be day 30 without any rainfall").*
  • An administrator for the official Facebook page for WALA-TV posted a message on the page dated for this Wednesday about a plan for the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV to have a new edition of a syndicated TV game program that was usually set to be part of its programming feed during first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times during the second half of the hour of 12:00 a.m. this Thursday on the twenty-seventh day of this October due to a plan for the channel to have special network programming from their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) during its regular time period for Monday through Friday (the name of the game program was "Jeopardy!"; as for the special network programming, it was expected to be about a series of professional baseball games expected to occur between this Wednesday and next Wednesday on the second day of this November ("The World Series")).*

  • According to the guides to the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV provided by Zap2it, TV Guide, and TitanTV, the channel was set to have new editions of a nationally-syndicated game program that was usually set to be part of its programming feed during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times during the second half of the hour of 3:00 a.m.* this Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday (on the twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh, and twenty-ninth days of this October respectively) due to a plan for the channel have special network programming from their main provider of network programming (the FOX Broadcasting Company) during that time period this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (the name of the game program was "Wheel of Fortune"; as for the special network programming expected to come, it was expected to be about a series of championship baseball games expected to occur between this Tuesday and next Wednesday on the second day of this November ("The World Series")).

  • The news presenter for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (Bob Grip on "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") stood beside a group of nine electronic monitors displaying video related to some of the news reports planned for the program while describing them. 
  • The local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channels for WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. ("WKRG News 5 This Morning" and "Local 15 Today" respectively) had broadcasts from near a cruise terminal in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama about a cruise ship about to dock there.
  • The weather reporter for the local news operation at WALA-TV who usually did weather reports for their local news programs for Monday through Friday night in recent times (Jason Smith) was the weather reporter for their local news program for Saturday and Sunday mornings ("FOX 10 News in the Morning" (the same news was used for their local news program for Monday through Friday mornings, even though their regular broadcast times and formats were different)) this past Sunday on the twenty-third day of this October (he was not the weather reporter for the local news programming they had this Monday night (the one they had in place of him was named Matt Barrentine)).

News for Sunday, October 23rd, 2016

  • One of the news presenters and news reporters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Ashley Knight) said a game of "wheelchair basketball" was personal to some members of the operation while presenting a report about the game on a local news program of theirs that appeared on their main broadcast channel during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Saturday on twenty-second day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at 10"). 
  • One of the digital sub-channels for WKRG-TV (the one that usually had programming from a national TV programming service named Memorable Entertainment Television (it was also named Me-TV)) had an advertisement with a character resembling one of the candidates for the presidency of the United States (the one named Donald Trump) promoting an automobile dealership based in the city of Saraland in the southwestern part of the state of Alabama (Persinger Automobile) this Sunday (the name of the character was "Danald Trump").  
  • The operators of WDLT-FM, WBLX-FM, WABD-FM, WGOK-AM, and WXQW-AM (Cumulus of Mobile) had an interview with a former secretary for the Department of Labor of the United States originally from the southwestern part of the state of Alabama (Alexis Herman of the city of Mobile) on a new edition of a local radio program of theirs dedicated to news and public affairs named "In Touch Gulf Coast" this Sunday (at least two of those stations were broadcasting the program this Sunday: WDLT-FM between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and WBLX-FM between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.).

  • The news presenter on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. past Friday on the twenty-first day of this October (Devin Walsh on "WKRG News 5 at Noon") referred to an attack at a lounge in the city of Orlando in the state of Florida this past June as "the worst mass shooting in modern U. S. history" whereas the one on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV (Darwin Singleton on "Local 15 News at Noon") referred to the same attack as "the worst mass shooting in U. S. shooting". 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast for WPMI-TV between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m this past Monday on the seventeenth day of this October ("Local 15 Today") had a promotion for the Junior League of Mobile in which four cards for purchasing certain items at special prices from certain retailers in the counties of Mobile and Baldwin were available for residents of the local broadcast area for WPMI-TV to win upon dialing a certain telephone number (the news presenter for the program (Darwin Singleton) said six more cards were to be given away on the program the next day and that over 200 retailers were participating in the promotion).
  • The host of a local TV program dedicated to football teams representing various high schools in southwest Alabama (Joe Emer of "First and 10" for WALA-TV) posed this question and comment about the weather in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama at the beginning of a "preview" for the program on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for its station during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this past Friday ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m." between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.): "How can Mobile be the number one wettest city in the country and then we go three weeks without a drop of rain? The weather here is crazy. Let's talk some football; moving on to our FOX 10 "First and 10" game of the week".

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this past Thursday on the twentieth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") had a ("live") report (by a news presenter and news reporter of theirs named Bill Riales) from one of the public high schools in the Mobile County Public School System (John L. LeFlore Magnet High School) about some parts of the previous set for the program and other local news programs for WKRG-TV being reused for a TV programming service operated by the system (MCPSS TV) and a curriculum in broadcasting, news gathering, and news gathering for the school.*
  • The main broadcast channel WEAR-TV was not set to have a live version of a national TV program from their main provider of network programming ("Jimmy Kimmel Live" from the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) that usually did not appear live in their programming feed for the provider this past Wednesday on the nineteenth day of this October. It was still set to appear on the channel that day, albeit the way it usually appeared on the feed before then (in recorded form between 10:35 p.m. and 11:37 p.m. from Monday through Friday) and during its regular time period for appearing on the channel (usually between 11:01 p.m. and 12:07 a.m. from Monday through Friday during autumn months).**
  (*a former camera operator for WKRG-TV named Quintin Howard was part of the report, for he was part of the management of the programming service).

  • Between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday, the main broadcast channel for WEAR-TV had a computerized graphic with lottery numbers over the bottom-half of its programming feed for a few seconds when it had the opening sequence of an animated TV program from the main provider of network programming for WEAR-TV (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) named "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. ("WKRG News 5 at 6") this past Tuesday on the eighteenth day of this October had a report about a new curriculum for students of the public high schools in the county of Baldwin in southwest Alabama who may be interested in becoming broadcasters (some of the video in the report included what appeared to be parts of the previous set for producing local news programs at WKRG-TV (they were replaced by their current set for such programs in the April of the year 2014 )).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. this past Tuesday ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.) had a report about some members of their local news operation (including both of the news presenters for the program (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) and the weather reporter for their local news program for the hour of 4:00 p.m. (Chasity Byrd of "FOX 10 News at 4:00 p.m.") being invited to read stories to different groups of students (from kindergarten "up to" grade eight) at a Catholic school in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama (Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic School) earlier that day (the presenter of the report (Bob Grip) said he "led" a discussion about a book he said he read to one of the groups named "The Giving Tree" before thanking the school for the invitation on the program).

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") had a report about a group of students of a public elementary school in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama (Pauline O'Rourke Elementary School) touring their broadcast facility in the city this Tuesday.
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Monday on the seventeenth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had videos of various promotions for an effort sponsored by WKRG-TV and the University of South Alabama in Mobile ("The WKRG-University of South Alabama Canned Food Drive") to help a food bank based near Mobile (in the city of Theodore in southwest Alabama) named Feeding the Gulf Coast (the videos included those of the sports reporter for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Randy Patrick Setterstrom) hosting a game similar to a card game named "three-card monte" (the reporter called it "three-can monte"), except it involved cans instead of cards (the reporter asked one of the news presenters for the program (Mel Showers) where the can of corn in the game would be "this weekend", to which he (correctly) answered, "At the Jaguars football game" (he was referring to the football team for the university). Afterwards a person (identified as simply "John" by the sports reporter) holding a sign promoting the effort (with the words "Support USA Jaguars" and "Donate cans at WKRG studios") appeared on the set of the program before video of the sports reporter holding the same sign while dancing with a person (named Chris Bergeron) holding a sign with the words "oil change" and the price "$19.90" near a highway (Highway 90) and the exterior of a business in Mobile specialized in maintaining automobiles named Precision Tune Auto Care appeared during the sports segment of the program).

  • The news presenter on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. last Saturday on the fifteenth day of this October (Ashley Knight on "WKRG News 5 at 10") improperly referred to their companion station (WFNA-TV) as "the CW55 network" while promoting a new syndicated TV program for the station ("Positively Paula").*
  • WDLT-FM and WBLX-FM each had a different edition of a local radio program dedicated to news and public affairs named "In Touch Gulf Coast" on their programming feed last Sunday on the sixteenth day of this October (the edition on the feed for WDLT-FM came between 5:35 a.m. and 6:05 a.m; the edition on the feed for WBLX-FM came between 6:05 a.m. and 6:35 a.m. (both feeds usually had the same edition of the program in the same time periods on a weekly basis before this past Sunday)).**

    • The weather reporter on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. this past Thursday (John Nodar on "WKRG News 5 This Morning") referred to the program as "News Fest" during various points of its broadcast shortly after its reports about some festivals planned for different parts of their local broadcast area (such as a festival dedicated to shrimp in the city of Gulf Shores ("The National Shrimp Festival") and a festival dedicated to Greek culture ("Greek Fest") in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama).  
    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. this past Wednesday on the twelfth day of this October ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had video of what appeared to be a news reporter for a TV station located in the city of Rocky Hill in the state of Connecticut (Kara Lundun of WFSB-TV) with the same owners as WALA-TV (the Meredith Corporation) doing a live news report (about a crashed airplane) from the city of East Hartford in the same state while interacting with the news presenter for the program (Lenise Ligon) in the broadcast facility for WALA-TV in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama.

    • The main broadcast channel for WFGX-TV had an opaque version of their logo at the bottom-right corner of its programming feed instead of the transparent version that usually appeared there over the past year this Saturday.  
    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this Saturday ("WKRG News 5 at 10")  had a news report in which the brand name of the local news program for the main broadcast channel for their companion station ("CW55 News at 9 [p.m.]" for WFNA-TV) was part of its "sign-off" ("Reporting in Pensacola [Florida], Katrice Nolan, 'The CW55 News at 9' ").

    News for Friday, October 14th, 2016

    • The weather reporter for the local news programs that usually appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. and during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times (Kelly Foster of "Local 15 Today" and "Local 15 News at Noon" respectively) did some news presentations for those programs while a colleague of hers (a weather reporter named Jake Dunne) substituted for her this Friday.  
    • Some of the local news programs for WKRG-TV (including their local news program for the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") and the one for the first half of 5:00 p.m. ("WKRG News 5 at 5")) had reports about the person charged with directing their news operation (Michael (Mike) Rausch) in recent times retiring from doing so any more this Friday in order to become the director of the news operation for a TV station in the city of Colorado Springs in the state of Colorado named KRDO-TV.

    • One of the news reporters on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this past Wednesday on the twelfth day of this October (Chad Petri on "WKRG News 5 at Noon") told its audience they could "catch" a new syndicated TV program about the subject of one of its news reports (a chef named Paula Deen) on their on their companion station (WFNA-TV) this Sunday on the sixteenth day of this October between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (he said the name of the program was "Positively Paula"). 
    • One of the news presenters on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. this past Tuesday on the eleventh day of this October (Bob Grip on "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") said a member of the House of Representatives of the United States from southwest Alabama named Bradley Byrne would vote for a candidate for the presidency of the United States named Donald Trump in spite of a statement attributed to the member about the candidate not being "fit to be president" and that the candidate "should step aside" in order for a candidate for the vice presidency of the United State associated with the candidate named Mike Pence to "lead the Republican ticket" to the presidency before saying the member would "vote for the Republican nominee" for the presidency over the one nominated by the Democratic Party named Hillary Clinton and that "he just believes that person (the nominee) should be Mike Pence".*

    News for Wednesday, October 12th, 2016

    • One of the news presenters on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. (Bill Riales on "WKRG News 5 This Morning") called the camera used for one of the traffic reports on the program (a "Bayway Report") "a vintage 1930s ('nineteen thirties') ALDOT (an acronym for the Alabama Department of Transportation) camera" since the video from the camera appeared in shades of black and white during the report like most movies made during the decade he had referenced (they usually had video from the camera appear with a wider range of colors for reports such as this one before then).
    • According to a message on the official Facebook page for WALA-TV dated for this Wednesday and attributed to a member of their local news operation who usually did reports about traffic conditions in their local broadcast area on their local news program for Monday though Friday mornings (the name of the member was Asha Staples; the name of the program was "FOX 10 News in the Morning"), the member had "switched" from the position of doing such reports on a regular basis to a position of doing news reports from the county of Baldwin in southwest Alabama (east of the city of Mobile in the county of Mobile) on a regular basis (the message was posted in response to a message attributed to a visitor of the page concerning her ("Where is Asha with traffic?")).

    • The official World Wide Web site for WXQW-AM usually did not have information about their programming plans for the hours between  9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. for Monday through Friday since their broadcast operation started having news and discussion programming on a regular basis last October (their programming feed had a syndicated program named "The John Batchelor Show" during that time period this Tuesday). 
    • A member of WPMI-TV specialized in providing content about their local news operation on the World Wide Web (Taren Reed) started presenting a special type of programming segment for one of their local news programs ("Local 15 News at Noon") usually presented by a news presenter for the program (usually a former member of theirs named Kelly Jones) on a weekly basis back in September (the segments were usually reviews about certain forms of entertainment).

    News for Monday, October 10th, 2016

    • Some recordings of promotional videos for WKRG-TV dated for the year 1975 were uploaded onto an Internet video service named YouTube last Saturday on the eighth day of this October (they were about some national network TV programs from their main provider of network programming ("Kojak" (a dramatic program) and "Cher" (a variety program) from the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)). 
    • The brand name for the local news operation at WALA-TV was part of the ending to a news report attributed to a member of a national cable TV and satellite TV programming specialized in news (Jennifer Griffin of the FOX News Channel) that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (the name of the program "FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m."; the ending to the report was "In Washington, Jennifer Griffin, FOX 10 News").

    News for Sunday, October 9th, 2016 (amended)

    • A recording of the beginning of a local TV program for WKRG-TV named "The Late Show" dated for the Saturday of the fifteenth day of February in the year 1975 was uploaded onto an Internet video service named YouTube by this past Saturday on the eighth day of this October. 
    • The Alabama Public Radio station in southwest Alabama (WHIL-FM) had a station identification segment not normally used in its programming on an hourly basis this Sunday (it had the name of the station and the names of other Alabama Public Radio stations spoken in different voices and the words "we are Alabama Public Radio" spoken in one of those voices afterwards).* 
    • The news presenter on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV this past Saturday evening (Renee Dials between 10:11 p.m. and 10:42 p.m.) used to be their regular local news presenter for their programming on Saturday evenings for several years before they started having different local news presenters in their programming on Saturday evenings by the year 2014 (she continued to be their regular local news presenter for their programming on Sunday evenings afterwards)

    News for Saturday, October 8th, 2016

    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. ("Local 15 News at 5 p.m.") had several consecutive reports attributed to other TV stations within their holding (or "parent") company (the Sinclair Broadcast Group) about how the state of Florida was affected by a tropical cyclone named "Matthew" since this past Thursday on the sixth day of this October (the news presenter for the program (James Gordon) referred to each of those stations as their "sister station"). 
    • A member of the local news operation at WALA-TV (Joe Emer) expressed what may or may not had been his own personal feelings (impatience) while presenting a "live look-in" (or live video) of a football game between two football teams representing two different high schools in their local broadcast area (Vigor High School in the city of Prichard and Jackson High School in the city of Jackson in southwest Alabama) in their local news programming this past Friday on the seventh day of this October (for example, he said, "Let's get cracking! Let's get some football playing here guys" after saying time was being re-added to the clock for the game before requesting a "commercial break" in their programming since the game was on hold).

    News for Friday, October 7th, 2016

    • Some of the local news programs for WKRG-TV between this past Thursday on the sixth day of this October and this Friday had videos of what appeared to be a member of their local news operation (Haley Minogue) doing live news reports from a city outside their local broadcast area (the city of Jacksonville in the state of Florida) about a tropical cyclone (named "Matthew") that was predicted to affect the city by this Friday.
     (*some ("live") videos of the reporter doing more reports about the cyclone from Jacksonville were uploaded onto the official Facebook page for WKRG-TV between that Thursday and this Friday)

    News for Thursday, October 6th, 2016

    • The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV had a promotional video about a plan to hold a local theatrical version of a national TV program from their main provider of network programming ("The Price is Right" from the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama on the Thursday of the sixteenth day of next March and a contest in which some residents of their local broadcast area could win tickets to such a show. 
    • One of the members of the local news operation at WPMI-TV who usually presented news for their local news program for Monday through Friday mornings since this past Monday on the third day of this October (Kelly Foster of "Local 15 Today") was back to her regular role for the program (weather reporter) this Thursday (the role was held by another member of their local news operation (a weather reporter for Saturday and Sundays editions of their local news programs named Jake Dunne) in the meantime).*
    (*the regular news presenter for the program (Darwin Singleton) was the only news presenter for the program this Thursday)

    News for Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

    • The main programming feed for the radio network operated by Mississippi Public Broadcasting ("Think Radio" was the brand name for the feed) had a previous edition of a weekly radio program of theirs dedicated to technology ("Everyday Tech") without the person who was one of its regular hosts around the time of its original broadcast until her retirement from the program last Wednesday on the twenty-eighth day of last September (the name of the person who retired for the program was Ashley Jefcoat; the name of the other person who usually hosted it with her was Cherita Brent).*
    • WPMI-TV had what appeared to be video of a news reporter for a TV station outside of their local broadcast area (Scott Thuman of WJLA-TV in the District of Columbia) with the same owners as their station (the Sinclair Broadcast Group) doing live reports and analysis from the city of Farmville in the state of Virginia about two candidates for the vice presidency of the United States (Tim Kaine and Mike Pence) while interacting with two news presenters for their local news operation from their broadcast facility in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama (Kym Thurman and Greg Peterson) on some of their local news programs this past Tuesday on the fourth day of this October (including "Local 15 News at 5:00 p.m." for their main broadcast channel and "Local 15 News at 9 p.m." for the main broadcast channel of their companion station (WJTC-TV). 
    (*some parts of southwest Alabama were within the broadcast area of one of the radio stations in the radio network for Mississippi Public Broadcasting (WMAH-FM in southeast Mississippi to be precise))

    News for Tuesday, October 4th, 2016

    • The cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile started providing a matted (or framed) version of the main programming feed for WPMI-TV through one of its standard-definition channels this morning, specifically the one that usually had a "cropped" (or magnified) version of the feed before then. 
    • The main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV had a promotional video about a new sponsor and name for their companion station's (WJTC-TV) plan for broadcasting live football games between various football teams representing various high schools in their local broadcast areas this calendar year (the name of the sponsor was UA Early College; the name of the plan was "The UA Early College UTV44 Game of the Week").  
    • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV last Sunday on the second day of this October ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday") had reports about one of the weather reporters for their local news operation (John Nodar) playing drums as part of a group of musicians named "Dave and the Butts" (and "DatBs" for brevity) at a festival specialized in live musical performances in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama (the "TenSixtyFive" music festival).

    News for Monday, October 3rd, 2016

    • One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WPMI-TV (Kelly Foster) was one of the news presenters for their local news program for Monday through Friday mornings ("Local 15 Today") while one of their other weather reporters (Jake Dunne) was substituting for her on the same program this morning.  
    • The live video stream for WKRG-TV had local news programming for the first time since the Thursday of the twenty-ninth day of this past September by 4:59 p.m. (the start time for a local news program of theirs named "WKRG News 5 at 5:00 p.m."). By then, it usually only had video of various buildings in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama from long distances along with a graphic of one of their logos and the words "We'll Be Right Back" (it usually appeared on the stream between segments of their local news programs separated by advertisements in their TV broadcasts) in place of such programming.  
    • Before the live video stream mentioned in the previous paragraph had local news programming this Monday, a message (dated for this Monday) attributed to one of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WKRG-TV (Melissa Constanzer) concerning problems they had with the live video stream before then was posted onto their official Facebook page in response to a message (also dated for this Monday) attributed to a visitor of the page concerning him or her being unable to receive one of their local news programs through the stream.

    News for Sunday, October 2nd, 2016

    • The news presenter on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV this past Saturday night on the first day of this October (Rudy Harper) referred to the program by simply the brand name for all of their local news programs ("FOX 10 News", as in, "This edition of 'FOX 10 News' " (the way he used it for example)), since it appeared on the channel in a time period not normally used for such programming in recent times (11:11 p.m. to 11:44 p.m).  
    • The programming feeds for the cable TV channels in the cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile became accessible through one of the official World Wide Web sites for their company (Xfinity) by the start of this October (an account with access to those channels was required to access those feeds through the site)
    • The narrator for one of the news reports for the local news program mentioned in the first paragraph (a reporter for WALA-TV named Alexa Knowles) agreed with one of the persons featured in the report calling the person the report was mainly about "crazy".

    News for Saturday, October 1st, 2016

    • The live video stream for WKRG-TV started having video of various buildings in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama from distant locations on a regular basis by this past Friday (it usually only had video of live or recorded local news programs for WKRG-TV by then). 
    • The news presenter on the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (Chad Petri on "WKRG News 5 This Morning: Saturday") incorrectly said their companion station (WFNA-TV) would have a syndicated program based in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama named "Today's Homeowner with Danny Lipford" in their programming at 5:00 a.m. this Sunday (according to the guides to the channel from Zap2it, TitanTV, TV Guide, and Comcast, it was actually set to appear on the channel later this Sunday between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.).*
    (*the syndicated program was usually set to appear on the channel between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Sundays before this past September; as for why it was mentioned on the local news program at all, it was part of a segment based on the syndicated program named "Ask Danny")

    News for Friday, September 30th, 2016

    • WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV each had an interview with a professional strategist specialized in politics about some recent candidates for the presidency of the United States (specifically the ones named Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump) in some of their local news programming for this calendar week (the one in the programming for WKRG-TV was named Jon Gray; the one in the programming for WPMI-TV was named Penny Lee).
    • One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Michael White) made fun of the music for an animated sequence normally used for introducing weather reports called "emoji forecasts" on some of their local news programs in recent times while presenting such reports on some of those programs earlier this calendar week (he usually compared it with the music for a TV program named "Dora the Explorer" while doing so; for example, he said the music did not mean that program was about to start)
    • This past Monday on the twenty-sixth day of this September, the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and between 9:40 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. that day ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.", "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.", and "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have video of a news reporter for a TV station related to theirs outside of southwest Alabama (Erin Connolly of WFSB-TV in the city of Rocky Hill in the state of Connecticut) doing live reports from the city of Hempstead in the state of New York and interacting with the news presenters for the programs (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) on the set for the programs in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama.
