Conversations in Broadcasting #39

A certain part of a certain TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 a.m. on the Tuesday of the fourth day of the month of September for the calendar year 2018 ("Studio 10") appeared to have had this conversation between some of its contributors (Joe Emer (host), Alexa Knowles (host), and Michael White (reporter)):

(note: the beginning of this part of the program appeared to had involved a sequence of animation involving text of "TRACKING TROPICAL STORM GORDON")

Joe Emer: Yes, we are tracking tropical storm Gordon this morning -- Alexa Knowles and Joe Emer -- it's funny, Alexa, you are here filling in for four weeks -- you're coming back to help us out and so far you got caught in that major traffic back up.

Alexa Knowes: Yep.

Joe Emer: On I-ten.

Alexa Knowles: First day.

Joe Emer: First day.

Alexa Knowles: First day to work.

Joe Emer: And now we have a hurricane potentially coming in

Alexa Knowles: That just...popped up...seemingly out of nowhere. Just wow.

Joe Emer: Welcome back to the gulf coast.

Alexa Knoes: I know. The gulf coast is like [begins to appear speaking with a different voice] welcome back--

Joe Emer: Ye--

Alexa Knowles: --Alexa.

Joe Emer: --Yeah.

Alexa Knowles: [begins to appear speaking with previous voice] With all that happening.

Joe Emer: All that going on, so...

Alexa Knowles: I'm glad to be on a couch, though.

Joe Emer: Yeah.

Alexa Knowles: Because you know that for like three years I was out, like Hal and Kendra are doing right now now getting slammed.

Joe Emer: Doing the live reports and yeah, it is -- uh -- is is interesting when you're out in the field and you don't know what's going to happen and the rain--

Alexa Knowles: Mm hm.

Joe Emer: -- is coming down. The wind is whipping -- for more on what's going on with that weather Let's bring in meteorologist Michael White. And Michael, like we said, Alexa is here, and the...hurricane is back

Alexa Knowles: Ha ha ha.

Michael White: It is -- it is very interesting that she -- that she mentioned and pointed out that she was in the couch because I can remember numerous times tossing to her--

Alexa Knowles: Ha ha.

Michael White: -- when we had tropical mischief, and she would be getting pummeled--

Joe Emer: Ah [appears to wheeze].

Michael White: -- with rain--

Alexa Knowles: Yeah.

Michael: -- and wind--

Alexa Knowles: Yeah.

Michael White: -- and it'd be hitting her every which way and she'd have to cover the microphone and--

Alexa Knowles: In a plastic bag.

Joe Emer: Ha ha ha.

Michael White: -- Alexa, isn't it--isn't it so much nicer in the studio?

Alexa Knowles: It's so much nicer and dry in here--

Michael White: It is.

Alexa Knowles: I -- but -- shout out to Hal and Alexa --

Michael White: Mm.

Alexa Knowles: --because they are going to have a long day and so are our reporters--

Michael White: They are--

Alexa Knowles: -- to give you the latest.

Michael White: -- going to have a very long day, but they do phenomenal work. They've been doing great all morning and when the main action comes this evening I know we're going to see some really good visuals down there from them.
