Conversations in Broadcasting #28

The local news that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the twenty-fifth day of the month of July for the calendar year 2018 ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30") appeared to have had this conversation between one of its news presenters (Peter Albrecht) and one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Randy Patrick Setterstrom):

Peter Albrecht: All right, Randy. Yesterday the Senior Bowl came out and said, "We want to play at the new stadium at South Alabama". Now we learn a little bit more today.

Randy Patrick Setterstrom; Yeah, uh, Jim Nagy, the new executive director, he took over for Phil Savage -- appeared at the city council meeting yesterday, and then came on a radio show this morning, WNSP, and mentioned that the -- the practices, uh, if they build a new stadium out at South Alabama, would be held out at the new stadium. He was he's looking for more of an event type atmosphere than just a game and, uh, he feels like that, the biggest deal is the NFL Network has, uh, practices at the stadium and then they would have to move if we say for instance if they'd stayed at Ladd for the practices they would have to move all that equipment on Thursdays and Fridays. So because of the commitments to the NFL Network he thinks it's a better thing for them to practice out at the stadium, uh -- the new stadium if it gets built -- if and when it gets built -- I believe it's going to get built, I don't know when, though, that's the big question; the seventy-two million dollar question" immediately afterwards.

Lenise Ligon: Well, heh, the theme for the weekend: the heat is on

Byron Day: Ooh, very good.

Matt Barrentine: And going back to the eighties with that one. Let's go -- too bad we're not going back to the age when the temperatures will be in the nineties this weekend. Maybe some grunge, huh.
