• A person named Asha Staples had recently joined WALA-TV to report information about automobile traffic in their local broadcast area for their local news programming on a regular basis (according to today's edition of their local morning news program for Monday through Friday, today's edition of it was the first one to have her).

• The main broadcast channel for WJTC-TV had more special programming about live Carnival celebrations in Mobile's down-town area than originally planned today due to one of the celebrations not having been part of their original programming plans for today on account of it being delayed from happening a few days earlier (the special programming was set to begin at 6:45 p.m. and end by 9:00 p.m.).

•  One of the news presenters for the local news operation for WKRG-TV (Devon Walsh) had used part of one of their regular local morning news programs for Monday through Friday ("WKRG News 5 at 9")  to say that someone elsewhere at WKRG-TV was set to attend a championship football game ("The Super Bowl") that may occur this Sunday (the seventh day of this February) because a friend of his gave him a ticket (neither he, nor the other person was identified by the news presenter on the program).
