- One of the news presenters for this past Thursday's edition of WALA-TV's local 10:00 p.m. news program (Bob Grip of "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") had used a slang term for "feces" or "defecate" ("poop") in a report about Mobile's history with the Carnival cruise line that was part of the the program that day (it was used to describe the journey endured by one of the ships in the cruise line back in the year 2013 (the name of the ship was the "Triumph") that involved a lack of functioning toilets and a lack of power due to a fire before being towed to the Alabama Cruise Terminal in Mobile).
- The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV recently had a promotional advertisement that appeared to show the host for a new national TV program (Stephen Colbert of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert") promoting both their local 10:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 10") and the new program with two different voices (the new program was set to be part of their regular programming plans this Tuesday, September 8th), one of which was his regular speaking voice, even though he did not really appear to be speaking while promoting the local news program since he had his mouth covered by one of his hands and the voice used to promote it was not his regular speaking voice (he appeared to be saying "after WKRG News 5" in reference to the news program and "with Mel [Showers] and Rose Ann [Haven]" in reference to its regular news presenters for Monday through Friday after telling
folks to watch the new national TV program with his regular speaking voice).
