- According to WKRG-TV, their main broadcast channel was set to have a special local program about a new museum set to open in Mobile on the Saturday of this September 26th instead of national network programming from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) on the Monday of this September 14th between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (the channel had an promotional advertisement about this plan.)
- According to a news release issued by the holding company (or parent company) for WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV (Media General) and the one for the holding company for WALA-TV (the Meredith Corporation) today, the holding company for WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV was set to take ownership of the other one as part of a deal they had and set to either sell or swap either WALA-TV or both WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV in order to finish the deal.
