- Today's edition of WKRG-TV's local 9:00 a.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 9") had one of the weather reporters for their local news programming (John Nodar) demonstrating a computer program for streaming videos from computerized cellular telephones as part of a segment about the World Wide Web and the Internet
in general (the name of the computer program was "Periscope"; the name of the segment was "Around the Web and Around the World").
- The last segment of today's edition of WKRG-TV's local midday news program ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") was pre-empted by a different program a few seconds after a commercial break (the interruption occurred when the news presenter for the midday news program was about to explain the results of a certain "food drive" called "Stamp Out Hunger"; as for the program that interrupted it; it was a local programming segment less than five minutes in length titled "Marketplace 5").
