- WALA-TV had a new edition of a local TV program for discussing public affairs that was usually set to be part of their programming only once a week on Sunday titled "Rise and Shine" was part of their programming both this Sunday (between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.) and this past Saturday, May 9th (between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.).
- The news presenters and weather reporter for Sunday editions of
WALA-TV's local 9:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.")
presented images of their mothers on this Sunday's edition of the
program since this Sunday was designated a national holiday for
celebrating mothers (the names of the news presenters were Renee Dials and Michael Brannon; the name of the weather reporter was Matt Barrentine).
- According to the official World Wide Web site for a local TV program about nature titled "Gary Finch Outdoors",
WKRG-TV and their companion station WFNA-TV were set to take the place
of having the program broadcast locally on a weekly basis by this
weekend (WEAR-TV was usually set to have it broadcast on Saturday
between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. while their companion station WFGX-TV was usually set to have it broadcast on Sunday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. by this weekend).
