- The opening of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 11:00 a.m. this Monday had the name of the program that usually part of its programming during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m.* from Monday through Friday in recent times ("WKRG News 5 at Noon").
- The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV occasionally had special programming (from their local news operation) about a solar eclipse in place of programs that were usually part of its programming during the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times ("Judge Mathis" (a syndicated program) during the hour of 12:00 p.m. and "The Dr. Oz Show" (a syndicated program) during the hour of 1:00 p.m.) during those hours this Monday.
- The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV occasionally had a digital clock with the remaining number of hours, minutes, and seconds until a certain point of the event mentioned in the first paragraph of this report appear over some local news programs of theirs (with "FOX 10 News" in their names) and a local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles ("Studio 10") between the evening hours of the Sunday of the twentieth day of this August and the morning hours of this Monday before having a graphic with video of the event occasionally appear over some syndicated programs of theirs (including the ones mentioned in the previous paragraph) during the midday hours of this Monday.
- A Facebook page attributed to WPMI-TV had video of some special programming from their main provider of network programming (the National Broadcasting Company (NBC)) about the event mentioned in the first paragraph of this report while their main broadcast channel had programs that were usually part of its programming during the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. for Monday through Friday in recent times ("Local 15 News at Noon" (a local news program) during the first of the hour of 12:00 p.m.), "Gulf Coast Today" (a local program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles) during the second half of the hour of 12:00 p.m., and "Days of Our Lives" (a serial from the provider of network programming) during the hour of 1:00 p.m.)). .
(*the channel had special programming about the eclipse mentioned in the first paragraph of this report from their main provider of network programming (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) along with special programming of their own about it between the beginning of the hour of 12:00 p.m. and the end of the hour of 2:00 p.m. this Monday)
