- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this past Friday on the eighteenth day of this August ("WKRG News 5 at 6") had one of its news presenters (Mel Showers) claiming a crew for a national TV program named "Sea Rescue" was "filming" some pelicans that were part of a news report for the program.
- A YouTube channel named "Randy Buffington" had some videos about a certain person who usually appeared on some of the local TV stations based in southwest Alabama promoting a company specialized in furniture also based in southwest Alabama (the person was known by the names Tommy Buffington and T. Buff (a shorter version of Tommy Buffington)); as for the name by which the company was known, it was the Hoffman Furniture Company).
