News for Thursday, January 14th, 2016

  • The main broadcast channel for WFNA-TV had a new promotional advertisement for a nationally-syndicated TV program based in Mobile that had video of its host referring to them by their brand name (the name of the program was "Today's Homeowner"; the name of the host was Danny Lipford; as for the brand name, it was "CW55").
  • WALA-TV had a digital "countdown clock" superimposed on their local 9:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.) this past Wednesday (the 13th day of this January) to keep count of the minutes left in a national lottery game named Powerball (the clock usually appeared in its news segments on a persistent basis).
  • WALA-TV had the results of the lottery mentioned in the previous paragraph of this report take the place of the digital "countdown clock" mentioned in that report on the local news program they had in their programming after the one with the clock ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") this past Wednesday (the results usually appeared the same way the clock usually appeared on the other program).
