News for Sunday, June 25th, 2017
- The news presenter for the local news program that appeared on the main
broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00
a.m. this Sunday (Chad Petri of "WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday") used the last
few seconds of its installment for this Sunday to say that it was the last one for its weather reporter
(Melissa Constanzer)* and say that he and other members of WKRG-TV were going
to miss her (he also said she was a "great pal" and "a great
meteorologist" to him).
- The news presenters for the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. this Sunday (Kati Weis on "FOX 10 News at 6:00
a.m." and Lee Peck on "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") used part of their respective programs to present a report about the career of a colleague of theirs (a news reporter and a news presenter named Renee Dials) that was originally part of a celebration of her having been part of their local news operation for 40 years earlier this calendar year before presenting reports about her being set to retire from the operation on the Friday of the thirtieth day of this June (after the program with Lee Peck appears on the channel that day) and about how her career would be celebrated in their programming by the end of the calendar week for that Friday (they said the celebrations would involve all of their "newscasts" for the week, involve other colleagues of hers, former colleagues of hers, and "city leaders" talking
about how her career "impacted" a certain community, involve an "inside look into her
hometown", and involve what she had planned on doing after
retiring).
