News for Saturday, June 24th, 2017
(correction note: an incorrect surname was used unintentionally in reference to the (sports) reporter referenced in the second paragraph below this sentence for a previous report about him and other subjects for this weblog)
- A directory of telephone numbers for residents of the county of Mobile in southwest Alabama dated for this June named "The Real Yellow Pages" had references to two former radio stations based in this area (WABB-AM and WABB-FM).
- The sports segments of Saturday editions of one of the local news programs for WKRG-TV ("WKRG News 5 at 6") were usually presented by their news presenters in recent times (usually by a member of their local news operation named Ashley Knight) in recent times until the edition for this Saturday (the one for this Saturday was presented by the newest sports reporter for their local news operation (Robby Baker)).
- A member of the local news operation at WPMI-TV who mainly presented reports about sports and occasionally presented reports about news in general for some of their local news programming in recent times (Lance Crawford) appeared to be doing a live news report unrelated to sports for a local news program that was usually part of their programming during the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times earlier this June (the name of the program was "Local 15 Today").
- The cable TV system operated by Comcast Cablevision of Mobile usually had information pertaining to one of the programming feeds for a TV station in the city of Birmingham (WBRC-TV) in central Alabama in its guide to a programming feed similar to it from a station based in southwest Alabama (WFNA-TV) in recent times (both feeds were usually set to have programming from a national TV programming service named Bounce TV; as for the information pertaining to the one for the station in Birmingham in the cable TV system, it usually had the name of that station and the names of some of its local TV programs ("Bounce Around Birmingham" and "WBRC News") listed for times when the feed for the station in Mobile would actually have programs for the national TV programming service.
