News for Monday, February 5th, 2018
- A certain audio player on a World Wide Web site related to WNSP-FM
(connected to a graphic on the site involving the words "LISTEN NOW")
initially had audio of programming related to WNSP-FM at a volume lower
than that of the volume or
volumes it usually initially had for such audio before the Sunday of the
fourth day of this
February in recent times between day and this Monday (note: it had
audio of programming at a higher volume Monday).
- Some of the local news programs WALA-TV had on their main broadcast
channel between the Saturday of the third day of this February and the
Sunday of the fourth day of this February (including the one it had
during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the aforementioned Sunday ("FOX 10 News
at 9:00 p.m.") had a certain member of their news operation (Matt Barrentine) saying the phrase "boom-boom forecast" for parts of them related to weather without explaining it.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the hours of
5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning") had
audio of one of its news presenters (Jessica Taloney)
saying, "We're getting into the fun stuff; coming up next" immediately
before one of its breaks from appearing on the channel during one of
those hours (the hour of 5:00 a.m.) this Monday.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the third day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had video of a certain report (concerning a certain interrupted by a segment of it dedicated to weather without any mention of it being interrupted (note: the news presenter for the program (Shelby Myers) appeared to had attributed its details to a certain Patrick Thomas without any mention of whether he or she was a member of the news operation for WALA-TV or not).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the
Thursday of the first day of this February ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.")
had audio of one of its news presenters (Lenise Ligon)
saying, "The women are accused of a number of child abuse acts
including use of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and false
imprisonment among other things we will not mention" for one of its
reports (note: she had said, "A disturbing story coming out of Maryland
tonight" before presenting the details of the report).
- Some captions for a streamed version of the local news
program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during
the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the first
day of this February ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30") appeared to differ from the
ways in which one of its news presenters (Peter Albrecht) and reporters (a sports reporter named Randy Patrick Setterstrom)
spoke while discussing a certain announcer (examples: the captions had,
"SOME BREAKING NEWS OUT OF NEW ORLEANS" whereas the news presenter had
said, "All right, we've got some--some sort of sad news out of New
Orleans tonight, Randy"; the captions had, "BROADCASTING LEGEND JIM
HENDERSON ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT HE IS RETIRING
AS THE VOICE OF THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS" whereas the reporter had said,
"If
you're a big Saints fan, you probably know the name Jim Henderson. He's a
broadcasting legend over in Nola. He announced today that he's retiring
as the voice of the Saints"; the captions had, "HE'S ALSO STEPPING AWAY
FROM HIS RADIO AND TV DUTIES FOR WWL" whereas the reporter had said,
"He's also stepping away from his radio and TV duties effective
immediately over in New Orleans".
