News for Sunday, March 25th, 2018
(note: the last paragraph from the top of a previous report for this weblog named "News for Friday, March 23rd, 2018" was amended)
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the
twenty-fourth day of this March ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to
have its news presenter (Shelby Myers) saying, "I want to warn you some images you are about to see are disturbing", and one of its reporters (a news reporter named Toi Thornton),
"Once again, we want to warn you some of the images or video may be a
bit sensitive to some viewers" before having a video of a report related
to a discussion both of them appeared to have had with each other.
- The local news program for the main broadcast channel of the station mentioned in the paragraph above this one appeared to
have had reports of some awards from an organization named the Alabama Broadcasters Association being bestowed the station for the installments of it that were part of the programming of the channel in the period of time mentioned in the paragraph both this Sunday and the Saturday of the twenty-fourth day of this March (the news presenter for the installment of the program
that appeared on the channel during that period of time that Saturday appeared to had this at the beginning of the report: "And congratulations are
in order for some of our co-workers here at FOX 10").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WKRG-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on the Sunday of
the twenty-fifth day of this March ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday")
appeared to had audio of its news presenter (Chad Petri) presenting a
report of awards similar to those mentioned in the paragraph above this one being bestowed upon them immediately after saying, "Now here are five things
you need to know before you head out to church or wherever on this
Sunday morning" and four other reports unrelated to it (this was how the report began: "And
congratulations to members of the News 5 team; News 5 won several awards
in Saturday night's annual Alabama Broadcasters Association event").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday
of the twenty-fourth day of this March ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had audio of its news presenter (Jason Carter) saying, "Well there were more than eight hundred events in the U. S. and around the world to protest gun violence all in response to last month's deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida; NBC 5's Bryant Clerkley started his day covering the events here in Mobile" before having a certain video for a report involving the words, "In Mobile, I'm Bryant Clerkley, WKRG News 5: local coverage you can count on" immediately afterwards whereas the one that appeared on the channel during the hours mentioned in the paragraph above this one this Sunday appeared to have had its own news presenter saying, "Well there were more than eight hundred events in the U. S. and around the world to
protest gun violence Saturday; all in response to last month's deadly school
shooting in Parkland, Florida. News 5's Bryant Clerkley started his day
covering the events in Mobile -- and has more" before having the same video immediately afterwards.
- A local TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that
appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of
9:00 a.m. on the Friday of the twenty-third day of this March ("Studio 10") appeared to have had one of its hosts (Joe Emer) mentioning their having a type of contest ("Uhhh, yeah, Cajun
cook off, come on out and see a lot of us here at FOX 10; we had an
in-house, uh, contest to see who could come up with the best Cajun dish
so you'll be able to try that out tomorrow at the Cajun cook off") and its other host (Michael White) mentioning a certain being by the name of "Kay" as having been a
certain type of director for the program ("You know Chasity is off today
-- uh, if she were here -- one thing she would say is what--what gets
her through 'Studio 10' on a daily basis is, um, eh, eh, a woman named
Kay -- she always talks about Kay (Joe Emer: "Yes.") -- that was usually
our floor director on 'Studio 10', well, her worst nightmare has come true
because Kay is leaving (Joe Emer: "Yes."), this is her last day, uh, it is
not going to be the same without her -- so that even though I know that
you, the viewer, you know, didn't really get to know her like we knew
her -- you heard her name a lot and it is really not going to be the
same without her -- so we wish her the best, she's heading back to
Mississippi and hopefully one day maybe she'll come back. Who knows", before having the host mentioned earlier saying, "Yeah, we had a couple of brief
appearances here on 'Studio 10' with Kay over the past couple of years.
So, uh, bye Kay, thank you so much for all you've done. Y'all y'all have
a great weekend. We'll see you back here on Monday".
