News for Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

  • WALA-TV's local entertainment and lifestyle program ("Studio 10") did not begin with its regular opening sequence for its broadcast today; it began with a preview of some of its segments for today instead (the program usually had such previews after the regular opening sequence before then).
  • WALA-TV 's local 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. news programs ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m." and "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") each had another live report from New York, New York this past Tuesday, January 27th, within 24 hours of their previous live reports from there.
  • Both of the live reports for the aforementioned news program for this past Tuesday were about the outcomes of the snowstorm that happened in New York and in other parts of the northeastern region of the United States that day and this past Monday, January 26th. They even had the same person who provided the previous live reports (Yon Pomrenzie of the Cable News Network).
  • The aforementioned person answered a "follow-up" question about the snowstorm from one of the regular news presenters for the aforementioned news programs as part of each report just as he for each of the previous live reports (both of the regular news presenters got the chance to ask him a "follow-up" question).
(clarification note: this weblog's first reports about the previous live reports from New York were edited to clarify that each of the local news programs only had one of those live reports and that Yon Pomrenzie had answered only one "follow-up" question during each of those reports).
