News for Tuesday, June 16th, 2015

  • The regular news presenter for WPMI-TV's local midday news program ("Local 15 News at Noon") referred to a colleague of hers about to do a live report for today's edition of the program by both a nickname and a proper name while introducing her on the program (the name of the news presenter was Kelly Jones; the nickname given to the colleague was "Sarch"; the proper name given to the colleague was Lauren Sarchiapone).
  • The logo for WEAR-TV that usually appeared near the top-left corners of their official World Wide Web site and official Twitter page by this June was replaced by a new version of it recently: it had a seagull, the number 3 (for WEAR-TV's original broadcast channel number), the letters "WEAR", and a logo for WEAR-TV's main provider of network programming (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) just like the old one (the old version still appeared on the official Facebook page for WEAR-TV for identification purposes and on their main broadcast channel as part of their local news programming afterwards)
  • One of the pictures in the "Meet Our Team" section of the official World Wide Web site for WALA-TV (the team included news presenters and news reporters for their local news programming) was replaced by one that differed from all of the others (the picture that was replaced was still part of the profile of the person to which the new picture was linked, though) : it had a white background while the others each had colorful backgrounds consisting of parts of the set for WALA-TV's local news programs; its length was significantly greater than the lengths of the others; and its person (a news presenter named Lenise Ligon) appeared more prominent than the persons in all of the other pictures since she was the only one without sleeves and her waist was the only one visible.
(correction note: the second paragraph of the previous report for this weblog ("News for Monday, June 15th, 2015") originally had the word "an" at the beginning instead of the word "the" before being replaced by it to reflect the fact that Barbara Charnetski of Alabama Public Radio was the only account executive and community liaison for Alabama Public Radio at the time of her appearance in a recent local news segment for WKRG-TV)
