  • The news presenter and the weather reporter on the local news program WPMI-TV had in their programming during the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this past Monday (Kelly Jones and Kelly Foster respectively; on "Local 15 Today") kept saying, "Welcome to summer" in spite of the official start time of summer for this calendar year for the hemisphere of their local broadcast area (the northern hemisphere) being later that day (5:34 p.m.).**
  • One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Chasity Byrd) had used her position of hosting a local TV program of theirs dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles ("Studio 10") to say that she and a friend of hers (a person she was said to had "dated", according to the other host for the program (Joe Emer)) got engaged last Saturday on the nineteenth day of this June (she said the friend proposed their engagement).
(*videos of some of the contest and the winner of the contest being interviewed afterwards were uploaded onto the official World Wide Web site for WPMI-TV)
