News for Monday, August 27th, 2018

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this Monday ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Those stories and much more coming up on FOX News 10 at ten" immediately before its last break from appearing on the channel (note #1: the news presenter named Byron Day was part of the news operation for WALA-TV when it was usually referenced as "The Name 10" in their programming (note #2: this was during a previous tenure of his for the operation)).
  • The main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV appeared to have had a video with a certain being saying, "New channel, new time, same me" and, "This fall you'll find me on the Gulf Coast CW" with some graphics resembling text of "JERRY SPRINGER" during at least one of its breaks from having the local news program that was part of its programming during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. this Monday (note #1: the name of the news program was "WKRG News 5 at 6" (note #2: the phrase "Gulf Coast CW" was a nickname for WFNA-TV (note #3: WKRG-TV and WFNA-TV were related to each other due to their having been part of a certain holding company named the Nexstar Media Group in recent times))). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between the fifth and forty-fifth minutes of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the twenty-sixth day of this August ("WKRG News 5 at 5") appeared to have one of its reporters (a weather reporter named Thomas Geboy) saying, "News 5 slightly-late edition begins [pauses] right now" for a certain part of it related to weather ("News 5 Forecast First" (note #1: this part appeared to had been the first part of the program to appear on the channel in the period of time mentioned earlier in this paragraph (note #2: a transcript of a certain other part of the program unrelated to the one related to weather mentioned earlier in this paragraph was added to a separate part of this site (under this name: "Conversations in Broadcasting #36"))).
  • A certain Internet video stream that usually appeared to have had local news programming for WKRG-TV in recent times appeared to have had some closed captions involving texts of "FOR A LOOK AT WHAT WE CAN EXPECT HAPPENING OUTSIDE, HERE IS METEOROLOGIST TAYLOR SARALLO, WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY TAY." while appearing to have had a certain part of a certain local news program that appeared to had been part of the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the twenty-sixth day of this August ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday") that appeared to have had its news presenter (Chad Petri) saying, "For a look at what we can expect outside, here is meteorologist Taylor Sarallo with what is happening today."(note: the stream appeared to have had a certain other part of the program that appeared to have had the same news presenter saying, "Here's News 5's Taylor Sarallo with another look at your forecast. What is happening today Tay?" while appearing to have had some closed captions involving text of, "AND A BIG CROWD OF BIKERS TURN OUT FOR A RIDE IN SUPPORT OF A SARALAND The radar this morning is"). 
  • A certain TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 a.m. this Monday ("Studio 10") appeared to have had one of its (Joe Emer) saying, "We have something exciting to tell the folks about" to its other host (Michael White) before saying, "So over the next month that's starting tomorrow we're going to have a temporary fill-in host and it's a face you may recognize. Lets take a look at this picture: this is FOX 10's Alexa Knowles, she was here with us a -- a while ago and she's coming back for one month before her wedding. She's getting married on October 13th, so she's going to come back and hang out with us here on 'Studio 10' and be with us here for a month while we search for a permanent replacement. So tomorrow we are looking forward to welcoming back former FOX 10 superstar Alexa Knowles" (note #1: a certain Facebook page related to a certain "Alexa Knowles" appeared to had received a certain message involving details similar to the phrases attributed to the host named Joe Emer from its administration this Monday (note #2: a certain World Wide Web site related to WALA-TV used to have a hyperlink to what appeared to had been a profile of a certain "Alexa Knowles" along with some hyperlinks to what appeared to had been some profiles of other members of the news operation for WALA-TV on a regular basis in recent times)).
