News for Friday, October 21st, 2016

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this past Thursday on the twentieth day of this October ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") had a ("live") report (by a news presenter and news reporter of theirs named Bill Riales) from one of the public high schools in the Mobile County Public School System (John L. LeFlore Magnet High School) about some parts of the previous set for the program and other local news programs for WKRG-TV being reused for a TV programming service operated by the system (MCPSS TV) and a curriculum in broadcasting, news gathering, and news gathering for the school.*
  • The main broadcast channel WEAR-TV was not set to have a live version of a national TV program from their main provider of network programming ("Jimmy Kimmel Live" from the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) that usually did not appear live in their programming feed for the provider this past Wednesday on the nineteenth day of this October. It was still set to appear on the channel that day, albeit the way it usually appeared on the feed before then (in recorded form between 10:35 p.m. and 11:37 p.m. from Monday through Friday) and during its regular time period for appearing on the channel (usually between 11:01 p.m. and 12:07 a.m. from Monday through Friday during autumn months).**
(*a former camera operator for WKRG-TV named Quintin Howard was part of the report, for he was part of the management of the programming service).

(**editions of the program set to appear on the feed on Friday evenings this autumn were usually set to appear on the channel later than when they were usually set to appear by then (between 11:40 p.m. and 12:42 a.m.) due to a local TV program dedicated to football teams for various high schools in the local broadcast area for WEAR-TV ("Prep Football Final") being set to appear on the channel during that time period (between 11:01 p.m. and 11:40 p.m.) on those evenings)
