News for Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 (amended)

  • The beginning of the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 6:00 a.m. this Saturday ("FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m.") had audio of its news presenter (Asha Staples) saying, "Stay tuned, you're watching your only local news at 6:00 a.m." after presenting a preliminary (or "preview") of certain subjects for it as it were the only source of such news at that time.
  • A billing statement for Comcast Cablevision of Mobile dated for the month of November for this calendar year had this message concerning some of the programming feeds in their cable TV system: "On January 11, 2018, Big Ten Network, NBCS Washington, Outside TV and World Fishing Network will no longer be available on Sports and Entertainment. Spike will move from Digital Preferred to Sports and Entertainment. Please note that Spike is rebranding as 'Paramount Network' on January 18th, 2018." 
  • A national TV and radio program named "Democracy Now!" had one of its hosts (Amy Goodman) mentioning the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama for a report concerning a plan for the current holder of the position of president of the United States to hold a "rally" in a part of the state of Florida that was usually part of the same TV market as the city of Mobile and other parts of southwest Alabama in recent times (the "panhandle") "four days ahead" of a certain type of election expected to happen in Alabama.
  • Some of the local news programming for WALA-TV for this Saturday and the Friday of the first day of this December included what appeared to had been videos of a sports reporter for the news operation at WALA-TV (Bri MacNaught) doing reports from the city of Atlanta in the state of Georgia related to plans to hold a certain type of game of football that day (involving the football teams for Auburn University and the University of Georgia) whereas some of the local news programming for WKRG-TV included what appeared to had been videos of sports reporters for a TV station related to theirs based in the city of Birmingham in central Alabama (Chris Breece and Simone Eli* of WIAT-TV) from the same city concerning the same plans.
