News for Sunday, December 24th, 2017

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. this Sunday ("WKRG News 5 This Morning: Sunday") had its news presenter (Chad Petri) referring to a certain person he was set to interview as "his pastor" (it was part of a regular feature of the program usually involving him and a person being interviewed by him discussing faith and religion as part of the interview ("Faith Time")). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the evening hours for the Saturday of the twenty-third day of this December ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.")* had a member of the news operation at WALA-TV who was usually not a news presenter for it in recent times (a Facebook page attributed to him appeared to have had a recording of this installment of it with a message related to it attributed to him dated for that Saturday (with phrases such as, "My first time anchoring in Mobile at FOX 10"); as for his name, it was Toi Thornton). 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the twenty-third day of this December ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had audio of its news presenter (Mary Smith) laughing during her presentation of a report concerning a person in a certain costume (a "chewbacca" costume) riding a costume while having a video related to it before having audio of its weather reporter (Thomas Geboy) presenting more details related to it before having her saying, "Thank you, Thomas" and her saying, "I wasn't really expecting this to come up on our newscast; it just sort of sprung up on me at the last minute".
  • The last few minutes of the last segment of the installment of the local news program mentioned in the second paragraph from the top of this report and the last few minutes of the last segment of the installment of it that appeared on the channel mentioned in that paragraph this Sunday had videos of groups of persons singing (with lyrics such as "silent night" in the case of the installment for this Sunday and "glo-glo-glorious" in the installment of it mentioned in the aforementioned paragraph (note: there was no mention of the video in the installment of it mentioned in the aforementioned paragraph by the time it had it after having video of its news presenter saying, "We'll see you next time" and some video of some buildings and the sky behind them)).**
(*the program was listed as being part of its programming over a period of 60 minutes during the hour of 9:00 p.m. that Saturday in a guide to its programming on a World Wide Web site named Zap2it

(**the videos had graphics such as one involving the phrase "FOX10 Sounds of the Season" and a logo involving the words "TIRE ENGINEERS FULL SERVICE AUTO CARE" below the words "PRESENTED BY")
