News for Sunday, August 28th, 2016
- Earlier this Sunday, the main broadcast channel for WEAR-TV had some special news programming of theirs (about an explosion in a part of their local broadcast area outside of southwest Alabama (the city of Cantonment in the state of Florida) between segments of some special sports programming (a baseball game between members of the Little League from the city of Seoul in the nation of South Korea and the city of Endwell in the North American state of New York) from their main provider of network programming (the American Broadcasting Company (ABC)) between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (it also had a ticker with information about the explosion).
- Two weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV and one weather reporter for the local news operation at WKRG-TV who
usually only appeared in local news programs for their respective broadcast operations from Monday
through Friday in recent times were part of at least one of their respective broadcast operations' local news programs for this Sunday (the one for WALA-TV named Chasity Byrd
was part of their local news program for Saturday and Sunday mornings
(it was named after their local news program for Monday through Friday mornings ("FOX 10 News in the Morning")); the one for WALA-TV named Jason Smith
was part of their local news program for Sunday evenings (it was named after one of their local news programs for Monday through Friday evenings ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m."); the one for WKRG-TV named Alan Sealls was part of their local news program for the first half of 10:00 p.m. ("WKRG News 5 at 10")).
