News for Wednesday, December 20th, 2017

(correction note: the letter "l" in the word "Deland" in an earlier version of the second paragraph from the top of the previous report for this weblog ("News for Tuesday, December 19th, 2017") was capitalized)
  • A certain part of a World Wide Web site related to an Internet video service named Hulu regarding a certain part of it related to TV programming appeared to have had a logo for WALA-TV this Wednesday (note: it did not appear to any other logo for any other TV station in the TV market for southwest Alabama this Wednesday).*
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the nineteenth day of this December ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had one of its news presenters (Mel Showers) referring to some details of some news reports that were part of some of the local news programming they had on the channel between then and the morning hours of that Tuesday as "breaking news".
  • A local TV program dedicated to entertainment and life that usually appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 a.m. from Monday through Friday in recent times ("Studio 10") appeared to have had a member of WALA-TV who usually did not host it (Adam Olivier) actually doing so with one of its regular hosts (Joe Emer)** in the installments of it that were part of its programming during that hour both this Wednesday and the Tuesday of the nineteenth day of this December (the host named Joe Emer had said the one named Adam Olivier was "filling in for [a certain] Chasity"** while part of the installment that appeared on the channel this Wednesday).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the nineteenth day of this December ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had some live video of a news reporter for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Toi Thornton) comparing his self to toys and acknowledging his forename as "Toi" in addition to reporting on a certain initiative of theirs involving toys  (he was saying, "Who better to send to this but this guy: Toi Thornton" and, "As I said, we, of course my name is Toi, but, um, I'm not good enough for this. We need actual toys for those kids" while doing so; as for the name of the initiative, it was "The 10 Caring Gifts Toy Drive").
(*the logo was accessible through a hyperlink consisting of the words "View all channels in your area" and a menu that required certain zip codes for certain parts of the TV market for southwest Alabama (such as those for the city of Mobile in this area and the city of Pensacola in the northern part of the state of Florida closest to the state of Alabama) in order to access it at all)

(**this was the name of the other regular host for the program (Chasity Byrd))
