- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the
twenty-second day of this April ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to
have had its news presenter (Byron Day*) saying, "Attention parents, you
now have a place to toss that old car seat or upgrade to a new one.
It's all thanks to Target. The company is making it easier for you to
recycle those old baby car seats as part of Earth Month. Starting
tomorrow through May fifth, you can drop off those car seats through
guest services. They'll be recycled to create things like grocery carts
and plastic bins. In exchange you can get a twenty percent-off coupon on
a new baby car seat. That coupon will be good until May the nineteenth. And
did you know that ninety-eight percent of car seats are not installed
incorrectly -- it's pretty scary -- installing a car seat isn't as easy
as it seems, and there are a lot of things to consider and there are not
of opportunities to make mistakes. FOX 10 News is committed to making
sure your kids are safe in the car, so we wanted to invite you to the
FOX 10 studios on Wednesday, May sixteenth. We will be holding a free car
seat safety event. Licensed car seat technicians will be on site.
They'll be able to look at your car seats and fix any problems that they
find. Again this is a free event and it could save your child's life.
We hope you come see us on May sixteenth. Another event that FOX 10 is
sponsoring as we are continuing to keep committed to your safety as far
as your identity -- safe and bank statements -- so we are going to have a
shred event coming up because bank statements, bills, and credit card
offers are all prime targets for identity thieves. We're teaming up with
Gilmore Services for a free shred event next Saturday, April twenty eighth.
Grab your old documents and stop by Hank Aaron Stadium from eight until
noon." (*he was usually only a reporter for installments of the progarm that were part of the programming of the channel in the aforementioned period of time from Monday through Friday in recent times).
