- WKRG-TV had a new edition of their local 6:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 6") begin about 12 minutes later than usual this past Wednesday, December 2nd, due to their broadcast channel for the program (their main broadcast channel to be precise) having part of a special edition of a network news program titled "The CBS Evening News" during the first 12 minutes of their regular time period of its regular time (this also caused their main broadcast channel to only have part of an episode of a comedic TV program that usually appeared on their main broadcast channel after the local news program from Monday through Friday during the last 18 minutes of its regular time period for those days (its name was "The Andy Griffith Show" and its regular time period for Monday through Friday was 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.)).
- Both WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV had a news presenter for their respective local news operations use their local news programming to promote plans for the main broadcast channels of their respective stations to have a program that usually appeared on national television during Christmastime while promoting a plan for his or her station's main broadcast to also have an unrelated program after it recently (the one for WKRG-TV promoted their plan to have a documentary of theirs about a new museum in Mobile named the GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf Coast and an animated movie from their main provider of network programming titled "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer"; the one for WPMI-TV promoted plans for them to have a celebratory program titled "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" and an animated TV program titled "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" from their main provider of network programming).
