(Walter King) Wilson Jr. Bridge) and only referenced by a nickname ("the Dolly Parton Bridge") referenced by a nickname for it ("the Dolly Parton Bridge") on their local 10:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 10") on this day.
- The edition of the local 10:00 p.m. news program for WALA-TV ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") for this past Friday, December 25th, began with animated graphics and music that were normally used for introducing announcements about "breaking news" in previous editions of it in recent times instead of the animated graphics that were normally used to begin new editions of it.
- One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Matt Barrentine) and one of the weather reporters for the one at WPMI-TV (Chris Dunn) had each worn a red stocking hat with a white pompon while playing along with the idea of tracking a fictional character named Santa Claus delivering gifts around the world in his respective station's local news programming this past Thursday, December 24th (the type of hat they wore was commonly used in depictions of the character by then).
