• The main broadcast channel for WALA-TV had a paid commercial program for gospel music during the time period it usually had a local public affairs program on a weekly basis titled "Rise and Shine" (5:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.). 

• The news presenter for today's edition of WALA-TV's local 9:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") introduced a report about a person he said was a "17-year-old-boy" whereas the narrator for the report itself said the person was a "man".

• WKRG-TV had a report narrated by a camera operator of theirs named Amber Gerard on their local 10:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 10") this past Saturday, December 12th (they usually did not have reports attributed to her in their programming by them).
