News for Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015
- Some of the special weather programming WPMI-TV had on their main
broadcast channel this morning was simulcast on the broadcast frequency
for WXQW-AM between 7:00 and 7:30 (WXQW-AM usually had a
nationally-syndicated news and discussion program titled "Doug Stephan's Good Day"
during this time period from Monday through Friday in accordance with
their regular programming plan for those days and their format of news
and discussion programming).
- WKRG-TV had a report about their sports reporter (Randy Patrick Setterstrom) being honored with an award at a mayoral luncheon
in Mobile this past Tuesday, December 22nd, that was part of their
local news programming that day (it was about plans to hold a collegiate
football game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile today (the game was to be called the "17th Annual GoDaddy Bowl"); as for the name of the award given to the sports reporter, it was called the "Champions of Life" award).
- WKRG-TV had a report from Paris, France from one of their own news reporters
(Jacqueline Quynh) on their local 10:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 10") this past
Tuesday, December 22nd (they usually did not have their own reports from countries outside of their United States by then; as for what this report from Paris
was about, it was about some changes in security over there as a result
of certain acts of violence considered "terrorism" having occurred there
over the past calendar year).
