- The news presenter on the local news program that appeared on the
main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of
12:00 p.m. past Friday on the twenty-first day of this October
(Devin Walsh on "WKRG News 5 at Noon") referred to an attack at a
lounge in the city of Orlando in the state of Florida this past June as "the worst mass shooting in modern U. S. history"
whereas the one on the local news program that appeared on the main
broadcast channel for WPMI-TV (Darwin Singleton on "Local 15 News at
Noon") referred to the same attack as "the worst mass shooting in U. S.
shooting".
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast for
WPMI-TV
between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m this
past Monday on the seventeenth day of this October ("Local 15 Today")
had a promotion for the Junior League of Mobile in which four cards for purchasing certain items at special prices from certain
retailers in the counties of Mobile and Baldwin were available for residents
of the local broadcast area for WPMI-TV to win upon dialing a certain telephone
number (the news presenter for the program (Darwin Singleton) said six
more cards were to be given away on the program the next day and that over 200 retailers were participating in the promotion).
- The host of a local TV program dedicated to football teams
representing various high schools in southwest Alabama (Joe Emer of "First and 10"
for WALA-TV) posed this question and comment about the weather in the
city of Mobile in southwest Alabama at the
beginning of a "preview" for the program on the local news program that
appeared on the main
broadcast channel for its station during the hour of 9:00 p.m. this
past Friday ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m." between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00
p.m.): "How can Mobile be the number one wettest city in the country and
then
we go three weeks without a drop of rain? The weather here is crazy.
Let's talk some football; moving on to our FOX 10 "First and 10" game of
the week".
