- WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV had reports about a
plan by the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) to have
programming about a live football game involving two football teams
representing two different high schools in southwest Alabama (Saraland
High School in the city of Saraland and Spanish Fort High School in the
city of Spanish Fort) this past Thursday on the thirteenth
day of this October.*
- The weather reporter on the local news program that appeared on the
main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and
7:00 a.m. this past Thursday
(John Nodar on "WKRG News 5 This Morning") referred to the program as
"News Fest" during various points of its broadcast shortly after its
reports about some festivals planned for different parts of their local
broadcast area (such as a festival dedicated to shrimp in the city of
Gulf Shores ("The National Shrimp Festival") and a festival dedicated to
Greek culture ("Greek Fest") in the city of Mobile in southwest
Alabama).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. this past Wednesday on the
twelfth day of this October ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") had video of what appeared to be a news
reporter for a TV station located in the city of Rocky Hill in the state of Connecticut (Kara Lundun of WFSB-TV) with the same owners as WALA-TV (the Meredith Corporation) doing a
live news report (about a crashed airplane) from the city of East Hartford in the same state while interacting with the news presenter for the program (Lenise Ligon) in the broadcast facility for WALA-TV in the city of Mobile in
southwest Alabama.
