News for Friday, September 30th, 2016
- WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV each had an interview with a professional strategist specialized in politics about some recent candidates for the presidency of the United States (specifically the ones named Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump) in some of their local news programming for this calendar week (the one in the programming for WKRG-TV was named Jon Gray; the one in the programming for WPMI-TV was named Penny Lee).
- One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Michael White) made fun of the music for an animated sequence normally used for introducing weather reports called "emoji forecasts" on some of their local news programs in recent times while presenting such reports on some of those programs earlier this calendar week (he usually compared it with the music for a TV program named "Dora the Explorer" while doing so; for example, he said the music did not mean that program was about to start)
- This past Monday on the twenty-sixth day of this September, the local news programs that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and between 9:40 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. that day ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.", "FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.", and "FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have video of a news reporter for a TV station related to theirs outside of southwest Alabama (Erin Connolly of WFSB-TV in the city of Rocky Hill in the state of Connecticut) doing live reports from the city of Hempstead in the state of New York and interacting with the news presenters for the programs (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) on the set for the programs in the city of Mobile in southwest Alabama.
