News for Saturday, October 8th, 2016
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WPMI-TV between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. ("Local 15 News at 5 p.m.") had several consecutive reports attributed to other TV stations within their holding (or "parent") company (the Sinclair Broadcast Group) about how the state of Florida was affected by a tropical cyclone named "Matthew" since this past Thursday on the sixth day of this October (the news presenter for the program (James Gordon) referred to each of those stations as their "sister station").
- A member of the local news operation at WALA-TV (Joe Emer) expressed what may or may not had been his own personal feelings (impatience) while presenting a "live look-in" (or live video) of a football game between two football teams representing two different high schools in their local broadcast area (Vigor High School in the city of Prichard and Jackson High School in the city of Jackson in southwest Alabama) in their local news programming this past Friday on the seventh day of this October (for example, he said, "Let's get cracking! Let's get some football playing here guys" after saying time was being re-added to the clock for the game before requesting a "commercial break" in their programming since the game was on hold).
