News for Friday, February 3rd, 2017
- According to the official Facebook pages for WABF-AM and WERM-AM, their programming feeds were swapped from their usual broadcast frequencies this past Wednesday on the first day of this February (the feed for WABF-AM was usually broadcast at 1220 kilocycles while the one for WERM-AM was usually broadcast at 1480 kilocycles before then).
- The programming feed for WABF-AM had an announcement about the news regarding their programming feed and the one for WERM-AM mentioned in the previous paragraph in some of its commercial breaks between this past Thursday on second day of this February (it was delivered by a former radio announcer for another radio station based in southwest Alabama that used to broadcast at 1480 kilocycles before them (the name of the announcer was Barry Silverman; the name of the former station for which he used to work was WABB-AM)).
- One of the news presenters for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 4:00 a.m. and the
hours of 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. this past Thursday (Bill Riales of "WKRG News 5 This Morning") used at least one part of its broadcast to promote a plan for their companion station (WFNA-TV) and their own station to have a special program titled "The Big Game Tailgate" on their main broadcast channels between then and this Sunday on the fifth day of this January (the
channel for WFNA-TV was set to have it this Friday during the second
half of the hour of 9:00 p.m. (it was usually set to have a comedic TV program named "The Andy Griffith Show" during that time period from Monday through Friday in recent times) while the one for WKRG-TV was set to have
it this Saturday (on the fourth day of this February) during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. (it was
usually set to have a syndicated program named "Today's Homeowner" in
recent times)).
