News for Tuesday, January 16th, 2018
- One of the weather reporters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Jason Smith) was said to had been at a place named "the National Weather Service in Mobile" for the local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for their broadcast operation during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the fifteenth day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") by its news presenter (Bob Grip) and the weather reporter his self while part of the program as it was appearing on the channel during that period of time that day.
- Some of the local news programming WKRG-TV had on their main broadcast
channel between the Saturday of the thirteenth day of this January and the Monday fifteenth day of this January had
some members of their news operation referring
to a certain Sunday for a certain month of February as "Super Bowl Sunday"
while presenting reports of a plan for a certain Carnival society to hold a certain type of parade
on this particular Sunday (for example: the news presenter for the local news program that appeared on the channel during the second half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. and the first half of the hour of
11:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the thirteenth day of this January (Ashley Knight on "WKRG News 5 at 10").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the second half of the hour of 9:00 p.m. and the first
half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the fourteenth day of
this January appeared to have had its news presenter (Lee Peck) saying,
"An incredibly dangerous craze is dominating social media these days and
you probably aren't going to believe it until you see it: it seems some
teens are taking what's called the 'Tide pod challenge: putting laundry
pods in their mouths and even biting down on them. Pafoua Yang explains"
before having video of a report related to what he appeared to had been saying (note: there was no explanation as to whether the "Pafoua Yang" he had mentioned was a part of the news operation at WALA-TV or not on the program).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the second half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the fifteenth day of this January ("WKRG News 5 at 6:30") appeared to
have had one of its news presenters (Rose Ann Haven)
saying, "Now through the end of February, we are bringing you a series
of special reports for Black History Month. Tonight we're kicking things
off with some of the hidden history of Doctor Martin Luther King's
legacy. Teresa Smith introduces us to the Reverend Harold Middlebrook, a
friend of Doctor King, who marched with him on his journey to justice
and equality" immediately before having a video related to what she
appeared to had been saying (note: there was no explanation as to whether the "Teresa Smith" she had mentioned was part of the news operation at WKRG-TV or not on the program).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 6:00 a.m. on the Saturday of the thirteenth day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m.) appeared to have had its weather reporter (Matt Barrentine)
saying, "We had a few snowflakes last night; about ten of them or so
and, uh, some folks got a few pictures of them; pretty neat, but didn't
really amount to a whole lot" for a part of it related to weather
whereas the one that appeared on it during the hour of 7:00 a.m. that Saturday ("FOX 10 News at 7:00 a.m.) had the news
presenter for both of them (Devan Coffaro) saying, "Go Knights, you know I got to say
that because I'm a UCF alum" after presenting a report concerning a
certain member of a certain entity named "UCF" (she had referred to the
member as a "linebacker" named "Shaquem Griffin")
afterwards (the program that appeared on the channel during the hour of 6:00 a.m. that day also had audio of her saying, "Go
Knights" after presenting a similar report
(with the exception of her saying, "Truly an amazing success story")).
