(note of clarification: some recent
paragraphs for this weblog regarding the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV appearing to have had either the first or last segments of certain installments of certain programs immediately after having either the last segments of other such programs or the penultimate (or second/next-to-land) segments of their own installments (with black images between them) were based on personal viewings of an
Internet video stream for them rather than the channel itself (the reports were amended to reflect the
fact that the channel itself may or may not have had the segments the
same way in which they appeared on the stream)
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the twentieth day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had a video of a report concerning one of the news presenters for the local news operation at WALA-TV (Bob Grip) and a certain parade involving him (note: the narrator of the report (Shelby Myers) had referred to him only as "Grip" after initially referring to him as "Bob Grip").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the twentieth
day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had its news presenter (Kati Weis) referring to two of its subjects (involving locations named Orange Beach and Fort Morgan respectively) as "Baldwin County stories" after presenting some reports related to them (she appeared to had been saying, "And now to another Baldwin County story" and "We'll continue to follow both of these Baldwin County stories" while doing so.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday of the twentieth
day of this January ("WKRG News 5 at 10") had its news presenter (Ashley Knight) saying, "New at ten o'clock: cops were cooking in downtown
Mobile today: teams of Mobile police officers were cooking their own
batches of chili for the third annual MPD Chili Cook-off. The event was
actually supposed to be held last weekend, but ironically it was too
chilly for the chili cook-off" and its weather reporter (Thomas Geboy) saying, "Big
smile on my face when I was typing that into the graphic's system" after
moving one of his hands over some text of the words "WARM & SUNNY"
behind him.
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 6:00 a.m. on the Sunday of the twenty-first day of this January ("FOX 10 News at 6:00 a.m.") appeared to have had its weather reporter (Matt Barrentine) saying, "Well hey there folks, meteorologist Matt Barrentine. Happy Sunday to you! It's going to be a good Sunday weather wise. It's going to get really nice. It's starting out slightly cool-ish; let's just put it that way -- I mean you're still going to need a, you know, a nice jacket and coat when you walk out the door early this morning; if you walk out the door this morning; if you just sit there eating your eggs and drinking your coffee and say hmm well I'll wait a little while and then it'll warm up, then you're probably not going to have to worry much for a coat because it's going to get pretty nice when we get up here later on".
