News for Friday, August 10th, 2018
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the ninth day of
this August ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had some images in which certain parts of certain messages appeared blurry for one of its reports (note: a certain World Wide Web site related to WALA-TV appeared to have had what might or might not had been a recording of this part of the program).
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Thursday of the ninth day of
this August ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of
its reporters (a news reporter named Toi Thornton) saying, "We were just
saying we were crossing our fingers hoping that, uh, one would come
soon -- I was hoping the next few hours, but, there you go, there you
have it, the first alligator caught in alligator hunting season, uh, in
the southwest zone here this year. Look at that baby -- some guys just,
uh, brought, brought this uh, baby in, and I think that's the guy right
there in the blue shirt behind him" for one of its reports (along with some digital graphics and texts of "ALLIGATOR CAUGHT" and "DAUPHIN ISLAND").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for
WALA-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Monday of
the sixth day of this August ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to
have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day), saying "Barbara Estep"
while the program itself appeared to have had a graphic involving text
of "DEBRA ESTEP" for one of its presentations related to news (transcript of presentation: "It
happened last night on the Foley Beach Express; investigators telling
us this woman, fifty-seven-year-old Barbara Estep, was driving
south in the north-bound lanes of the express when she collided head on
with the car in which the victim, twenty-year-old Josie Jones, was
riding" (note: a certain World Wide Web site related to WALA-TV
appeared to have had an article with details similar to those of the
presentation dated for that Monday with the exception of it having
"Debra Estep").
- The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel
for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 6:00 p.m. on the
Wednesday of the eighth day of this August ("WKRG News 5 at 6") appeared
to have had a digital graphic with texts of "COMING UP" and "HE
SWALLOWED WHAT?!" while appearing to have had audio of one of its news
presenters (Mel Showers)
saying, "A Mobile boy is in the hospital after swallowing his mother's
hair barrette. We'll tell you how he's doing coming up"
within fifteen seconds of one of its breaks from appearing on the
channel in that period of time that day whereas the part of it that
appeared on the channel immediately afterwards also
appeared to have a digital graphic involving text of "HE SWALLOWED
WHAT?!" while appearing to have had audio of its other news presenter (Rose Ann Haven) saying this: "A Mobile mother tells News 5 her
twenty-month old son swallowed one of her hair barrettes on Monday. She
says she heard her son make a strange burp and gag noise, and later
took him to a hospital. Doctors had waited a couple of days for it to
come out on its own, but it has not. According to his mother, he will
have more tests done tomorrow. When asked how the little guy is doing
today, she says he is his same silly self" (update: the local news
program that appeared on the channel during the first half of the hour
of 10:00 p.m. later that day ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had
some digital graphics and texts similar to the ones mentioned earlier while appearing to have had audio of the news
presenter named Rose Ann Haven saying, "And a child in Mobile will have
to have surgery after he swallowed something. We'll tell you what it is
next" within fifteen seconds of one of its own breaks from appearing on
the channel in that period of time whereas the part of it that appeared on the channel immediately afterwards appeared to have had the news presenter named Mel Showers saying, "A Mobile mother tells
News 5 that her twenty-month-old son swallowed one of
her hair barrettes on Monday. She says she heard her son make a strange
burp and gag noise, and later took him to a local hospital. Doctors have
waited
a couple of days to see if it would come out on its own, but it has
not.
According to his mom, he will have to go through more tests tomorrow.
