News for Monday, August 20th, 2018

  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 12:00 p.m. this Monday ("WKRG News 5 at Noon") appeared to had ended while one of its contributors (a weather reporter named John Nodar) was speaking. 
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the seventeenth day of this August ("FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day) presenting a report of a certain "Jimmie Hugh Big Jim Jones" having been a "big radio personality" in Mobile for a certain "WMOZ" (note: the local news program that appeared on the channel between the twentieth and the sixtieth minutes of the hour of 10:00 p.m. that day appeared to have had its news presenter (Byron Day) presenting a similar report without any mention of a "Jimmie Hugh Big Jim Jones" having been a "big radio personality" in Mobile or any mention of a "WMOZ" (note #2: a certain World Wide Web site related to a certain entity named the Alabama Broadcasters Association appeared to have had an article regarding a certain "Jimmie  Hugh Jones" with mentions of "Big Jim", "WMOZ", and "Mobile")).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the nineteenth day of this August ("WKRG News 5 at 10") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a weather reporter named Thomas Geboy) saying, "High rain chances stick around for Monday and Tuesday, but by Wednesday a cool front -- air quotations, you can't see it on the screen -- will be moving through. This won't bring any cooler temperatures per say, but we only have a twenty percent chance of rain on Wednesday, and a few of us wake up with upper sixties on your Thursday, and then Friday night football -- that preview is coming your way, that's not looking bad either" (note #1: the program appeared to have had its news presenter (Jason Carter) saying, "Anytime you say the term cool front, it makes us all feel--" immediately afterwards and the reporter saying, "Cool front: air quotations" immediately afterwards (note #2: the reporter appeared had been flexing two of the digits for each of his hands while saying to say, "Air quotations")).
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WKRG-TV between the fifteenth and the forty-fifth minutes of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the nineteenth day of this August ("WKRG News 5 at 5") appeared to have had its news presenter (Jason Carter) saying, "The CBS Evening News is in progress right now" during the last fifteen seconds of its appearance on the channel in that period of time that day (note #1: the channel usually appeared to had been set to have a network news program named "The CBS Evening News" during the second half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday along with a separate program similar to it named "The CBS Weekend News" during the same period of time on Saturday and Sunday on a regular basis in recent times (note #2: the channel appeared to have had special programming related to sports from the provider of the network news programs (the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)) during the first fifteen minutes of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday mentioned near the beginning of this paragraph  (note #3: the channel usually appeared to had been set to have a local news program within a period of thirty minutes during the first half of the hour of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in recent times (note #4: the channel appeared to have had the program named "The CBS Weekend News" during the last fifteen minutes of the hour of 5:00 p.m. for the Sunday mentioned near the beginning of this paragraph)))).
  • A certain TV program dedicated to entertainment and lifestyles that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 a.m. this Monday ("Studio 10") appeared to have had one of its hosts (Chasity Byrd) saying, "So, um, I've been dreading this day for about two and a half  weeks -- so I've decided to step away from TV -- um,  I've been given a great op-- oh thank you for the close up, that's good -- um, thank you Ryan -- I have been given, uh, uh, a great opportunity with Baldwin County schools to join their communications department as a communications manager. Really excited about it, um, but, you know, with that, comes bittersweet feelings -- you know I have been here almost twelve years. February will be twelve years and so, um..." and the other one (Joe Emer) saying, "Yeah, it's going to--it's going to be a tough week for us this week" immediately afterwards (note #1: a certain Facebook page related to WALA-TV appeared to received a certain message with details similar to what the program appeared to have had the host named Chasity Byrd saying from its administration this Monday (note #2: the program appeared to have had the host named Joe Emer saying, "We've just posted something on the FOX 10 Facebook page, uh, just, uh, saying that this is Chasity's last week. If you'd like to post any messages  to Chasity, you can post them on there and perhaps we'll read them throughout the work--throughout the week or for her last day on Friday" after appearing to have had what it appeared to have the statements attributed to the host named Chasity Byrd earlier in this paragraph)).
