News for Monday, August 13th, 2018

(note: a certain part of the previous report for this weblog ("News for Sunday, August 12th, 2018") was amended)
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Wednesday of the eighth day of this August ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its reporters (a sports reporter named Bri MacNaught) saying, "Funeral arrangements have not been set yet, but to our thoughts and prayers are with the McCants family and to the entire Blount community" immediately after appearing to have had a certain video for one of its reports (note #1: a certain World Wide Web site related to WALA-TV appeared to have had a what might had or not had been a recording of the reporter saying this (note #2: the local news program that appeared on the channel during the first half of the hour of 10:00 p.m. that day ("FOX 10 News at 10:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Byron Day) saying, "Funeral arrangements have not yet been set for Chris, but our thoughts and prayers certainly with the McCants family and the entire Blount community" immediately after appearing to have had the video mentioned earlier in this paragraph)).
  • The beginning of a certain part of a certain installment of a certain TV program for WKRG-TV named "WKRG Sports Overtime" appeared to have had a certain presenter (Robby Baker) saying, "Well hello everybody and welcome in to WKRG Sports Overtime late edition here. We thank you so much for staying up late. We're signing on tonight the same time we usually sign off, but it's ok, I appreciate everybody for staying up late on a Sunday and you'll be treated to a jam-packed show tonight and we start as always -- even the late edition -- with the opening drive", a certain video involving text of the words "opening drive" and audio of the presenter saying, "Guys, Tiger is back! PGA Championship final round today --  It's the reason we're start off late tonight, but I don't even care -- Tiger Woods shot a six under in the final round. We thought he was going to do it, but then Brooks Koepaka said, 'No majors for you, Tiger!' Brooks Koepaka, won the U-S Open and the PGA Championship this year, in the same year. It's the first time that's happened since two thousand, when a guy named Tiger Woods did it" (note #1: the video also appeared to have had some digital graphics and texts of "BROOKS KOEPKA WINS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP" and "TIGER FINISHES 2ND" (note #2:  the beginning of a separate part of the installment appeared to have had the same presenter saying, "Well welcome back everybody to Sports Overtime late night edition. If you are still up with us on a Sunday night, I thank you very much -- you are a rock star -- and I thank you for being here").
  • The local news program that appeared on the main broadcast channel for WALA-TV during the hour of 9:00 p.m. on the Sunday of the twelfth day of this August ("FOX 10 News at 9:00 p.m.") appeared to have had one of its news presenters (Lee Peck) saying, "It's alligator season in the state of Alabama and those that hunt gators know that there isn't a lot of time to do it in the state. This is the first of two weekends for the event -- just look at some of the catches brought in at five-rivers Delta Center on the Causeway [note: the program appeared to have had a certain video involving some digital graphics and texts of "ALLIGATOR HUNTING" and "ONLY ONE WEEKEND LEFT" by this point] -- now if you want to hunt gators in the future, you have to apply for tags. Some other things to keep in mind: in Alabama you have to hunt for gators in open water-- no bait can be used. You can shine lights on top of the water, and if you see some red eyes, there is a good chance...that it's a gator. You can also use things like harpoons to help you catch the gator. The gator hunt continues next week at sunset Thursday" and a certain reporter (a weather reporter named Matt Barrentine) saying, "Darn, right?" for a certain report related to weather (transcript of part of the report in which those words were used: Matt Barrentime: There are a few tropical waves, now, coming off of Africa, but they don't look like they have much of a chance because the conditions out there just aren't just very good, that the the water temperatures are cooler than they what they usually are due to Saharan dust that came off of Africa and kind of kept the water temperatures down out there -- not up around eighty degrees --  and these storms have to move pretty far west to find better water and when they do they'll run into some upper level winds, so things are going to be struggling down there in the tropics. Darn, right? Ha ha. So it's good to see that hopefully it'll keep things quiet for a while as we go into the height of hurricane season here. The longer we can hold onto this, the better off we'll be. So we'll keep things -- we'll keep an eye on things, but it looks pretty good for now.).
