- Today's edition of WALA-TV's local 4:00 p.m. news program ("FOX 10 News
at 4:00 p.m.") had a report about another resident of their local
broadcast area being a contestant for the current series of editions of
the national TV program "American Idol" and her plan to talk about her experience on it with them during the next calendar week (the
person was identified as Glennellen Anderson of Gulf Shores, Alabama; as for the other residents who were contestants on the program, their names were Erica Washington of Mobile and Alex Wilhelm of Daphne, Alabama).
- The regular news presenters for WALA-TV's local midday and evening news programming plans for Monday through Friday (Bob Grip and Lenise Ligon) were in Daphne, Alabama on today's editions of their local midday and evening news programs
("FOX 10 News at 4:00 p.m.", "FOX 10 News at 5:00 p.m.", and "FOX 10
News at 9:00 p.m.) doing live reports about the Carnival parade that would take place there tonight while one of the regular news presenters (Eric Reynolds) for their local morning news program ("FOX 10 News in the Morning") substituted for them at their broadcast facility in Mobile since they were set to be participating in the parade along with some of their other colleagues (including the regular hosts for "Studio 10" (Joe Emer and Chasity Byrd) and their sports reporter (Michael Brannon)).
