News for Monday, February 2nd, 2015
- WKRG-TV and WPMI-TV had the ceremony that took place in
Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania today in observance of Groundhog Day
broadcast live as part of their local morning news programs ("WKRG News This Morning" and "Local 15 Today"), including its announcement about
winter being expected to last six more calendar weeks. WALA-TV had the ceremony
broadcast live also as part of their own local morning news program
("FOX 10 News in the Morning"), but not the announcement.
-
This past Sunday's edition of WKRG-TV's local 10:00 p.m. news program ("WKRG News 5 at 10:00") and today's edition of their local morning news program had a report about a new TV advertisement for a law firm based in Mobile (Maloney-Frost) being on WPMI-TV's main broadcast channel (radio frequency channel/virtual channel 15-1) during its break from the National Broadcasting Company's (NBC) programming about the 49th Super Bowl game between its second and third quarters (halftime).
- WPMI-TV's local weekly legal advice program ("Local 15 LawCall") was
broadcast shortly after 12:00 a.m. today instead of during its regular time period of
10:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. this past Sunday, February 1st (it was not live
like most of its previous editions), due to their local 10:00 p.m. news
program ("Local 15 News at 10:00") and a special edition of the network
variety program "Tonight" taking its place in their regular programming
plan for Sunday due to their broadcast of the National Broadcast
Company's programming about the 49th Super Bowl game and a dramatic
network program titled "The Blacklist" before the local news program.
